1985 928s v8 possible trade value?
So i'm selling my Wrangler Unlimited V8 Rock Crawler to fund my 911E build. I'm asking 15k for the jeep it has a little over 30k into it. Today I got a text wanting to trade a 1985 928s v8 with a stroker kit and 3k on top. It has 93k miles on it and looks clean. I personally don't like the 928. But would be trading to flip it. Is it worth my time? I see prices all over the place on ebay. I don't want to get stuck with a car I don't want.
Here are pics of the 928 http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...pssuteox1i.png http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...psn1juwacz.png http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...psjyk0ilsu.png http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps56gj3gw4.png Pics of my jeep. I say don't do it. The 928 is a car most people don't want. I on the other hand...actually do want one someday. But, they're not worth much, and pricing one at the high end of the range will just leave you with another car in the driveway.
I know someday when I do finally check the 928 off my ownership list it will have to sell at a loss, and I'll be dealing with a lot of people who really can't afford the car. I went through a similar thing with a Mercedes 560SEL. Most of these cars were poorly maintained for the last 10 years, and fetch $2500-$3500. Mine was perfectly maintained at a dealer, I had records to prove it, but very few people were interested in paying above $4500. |
Thanks you, that is just the information I needed!
