Unless you have to have original Bamboo in a Targa, that's not a $20k premium.

This ad poses the question - what are the values of SCs and Carreras in Germany, France, England? Are they as high as the seller says?

Some folks are delusional. Recently there has been a rash of folks on Craigslist and elsewhere trying for a grand slam when a base hit would be appropriate. Talked to a guy who has a beat up high mileage SC on Craigslist for 17k, because "he heard they are going for crazy money", within one week he increased the price to 21K. It was over priced at 17K. Go figure. Tim

Certain rare, desirable models are, just like here in the States, but this car is far from rare. I've asked Norbert from the Turbo-Look register to comment. He is in Germany and keeps abreast of the market. Hopefully he will chime in.

Pelicans have always devalued targas. Bruce Anderson always used to value them above coupes.
This car is overpriced either way.

I hope he gets his price. What would that make my 88 Cassis Red Targa with 65K on it worth?

THIS.

I can park my targa next to a coupe and the targa will draw double the interest, any day

Convertibles (targas included) ALWAYS, over the long haul, appreciate more than the coupes, even if far less valuable at first. Happened with 356s, happened with early 911s and will happen with all air cooled 911s, whether targa or true convertible.

Regarding this car...the seller is SMOKING CRACK. Maybe in 15 years, but not today.

Dream price! Has anyone been watching the market? Things have been really bad for days now. I feel in just a few weeks we will see air cooled prices come back down to earth. Wow, all those folks who paid a zillion bucks for their cars in the last 6 months will be sick! Prices will follow the market. I think this will be a big correction. I could be wrong!

I owned a Targa with a 915 and I came away with two observations. I will NEVER own a 911 with a 915 trans, and I will NEVER EVER again own another Targa! Guys, keep smokin that Targa/Vert Cool Aid cuz I ain't buying it - coupes only!

If that's 45k car, then my 993 is worth 99k!

From my driving of these cars, that's the only one I want. I agree with you on the Targa thing.
