1969 T Targa Feeler
Helping a gentleman sell his 1969 T Targa. It has approximately 70,000 miles. Hasn't been started in 8 months, but hopefully we will have it going this weekend. Original 2.2 all numbers matching. Exhaust is aftermarket, but nothing too aggressive. Pictures tell the rest. He is the 2nd owner and has had it for over 16 years. Unfortuantely it has a whale tail on it which can be removed, but you all know the story with that.
He is not interested in putting anything into it for now, so someone could get a great deal as long as it is reasonable. Pics included. What do you all think? a non running example with rust all about is for sale at BHCC for $29,500. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

What's up with the rear reflector, not to mention the red fan, etc? Problem is people see some rusted hulk at some ridiculous price at think they have gold. I am interested to see what's up with these modern updates, the usual rust areas. Now may be the time to sell though. Put it up on the 'bay and see what happens.

The gentleman redid a few things in 1989. It has the rear wing and updated tensioners and evidently a 3.2 inspired red fan.
Accordingly , with all the strangeness, what's the number do you all think? I've made no claim to him that is a gold mine. Especially as it is not original. However, it is not terribly bastardized. It has great body, original shocks, interior, etc. Wing is a bit of a mistake value wise. |

Are those factory sport seats? That just increased the value considerably.
I'd get a COA on the cat before you try pricing the car to confirm the originality and options. If that car was delivered from the factory with those seats and you can confirm other original parts, the value of that car goes up. |

And it's not too difficult to remove the cheesy tail and reflector. These are bolt-on items, plus you'll be able to sell them separately for some good dough. It looks to me this car needs very little to be desirable to many people.

Red fans put Pelicanheads in a panic.
But if you can read the engine number, that will help ascertain originality. Similarly, if you can read the number on the paint tag (between the left door hinges) that will determine if the car became 'resale red' or was born that way. As has been stated, there are reversible modifications to the car, but they are costly to reverse. As it sits, without knowing the state of the pan, etc, it's a low $20s car. Solid passenger pan adds value. Solid front suspension pan adds more.

Red fan = strong possibility of a motormeister "rebuilt" motor. That said, it looks like a interesting car worth a closer look.
