In need of help!! Father passed away. Parts questions.

Hello Pelican members,

Im gonna try and make this short and concise if I can. Please move to correct forum area if this is not it. My father Mark was an avid Porsche racer, builder and collector for the past 30 years. He passed away about 2 years at the age of 62 from cancer. I myself am a car builder and racer but I have limited knowledge when it comes to Porsche related items. This is where you all come into play!!! I need to start cleaning up the shop for my mother and start moving parts. Can you maybe help me identity and value some items?BTW I am posting under his name. This is just a small bit as he has huge storage areas of parts.

For example these Minilite wheels? Are these genuine minilites? Are they Mag or Aluminum? They do have the correct lugs with washers. All I can find stamped on the back of the wheel is SB. What do I need to do to identify?

This is the only wheel thats pitted.

This Webber set

These came out of his 67 as he replaced them with recaro sports.

Brand new BF Torino seats

He bought these originally for the Minilites. 2 are new and the other 2 not sure.

The Webers will have an IDA or IDT # stamped in the side. Post that. Lots of Webers out there.

Not much help on the other stuff. Sorry for your loss.

Thanks Matt.

Of course the only photo I took today of the stamp is blurry…..

It's right under that W in your picture. Also check the butterfly shafts for slop and play. Will determine if they need to be refurbished or not. Changes value quite a bit.

Early 911S Registry

Go to this site... they will be very helpful as well as the market for what you want to sell.

First, sorry about your father.

I am sure you know, but just to make it clear, early 911S's especially the 67 S have been going up in value like crazy. Stock they are worth more, so any parts to bring one back to stock have been going up.
My advice is to not sell anything that came off his S that was stock, like those seats.
Besides the value factor, if you plan on driving the S on the street you might find the car is way more fun to get in and out of with the stock seats.
The Early 67 S had IDA carbs and those Webers might have come from it even if they are not IDS's. If he has big carbs the car now it will not be much fun to drive on the street, you might want to put the stock carbs back on.
So sell the Mini lites and what ever else hot rod parts you want because they can be replaced fairly easily, but the Original 67 S stuff is becoming very dear and if you sell that stuff and decided later you want a fun street car you might be stuck.
My favorite road trip car is the 67-68 911S.

The carbs shown are IDA/IDT. The IDS have a fitting with an extra nozzle per venturi.

Really sorry to hear about your dad. Gone way too soon.

Jeez...hate that ****ing disease. My dad passed because of that at 61.

Nice parts...love the thread pattern of those Dunlops.

Nice looking 911 too....bet you will get a lot of PM's from vultures because of that first picture.

All the best,

Christian

Sorry about your dad...
I know a good guy also living in New Mexico in case you need some assistance. Internet is great, but sometimes also good to be able to meet someone in person. You can check out Mike here, he also has a 67S: Seeing Green: My time with 308427S

Thanks for the kind words and suggestions. I have zero interest in selling the car. I am only moving items deemed not needed at this point. I have been following the 911 car market for a while now, I am pretty versed as to the prices cars are getting these days, odd parts not so much.

For all that have PM'd please be patient as I will respond ASAP.

The car is a 67 911s with all matching numbers. My dad purchased the car running and in a barn for $8k 17 years ago. About 5 years ago he began and completed a full 2 year restoration. He took the original running motor and transmission out to preserve and put in a 2.2 twin plug motor we had from a previous car.

First and foremost, sorry to hear about your Father's loss. My original 7x15 Magnesium Minilites are highly valued. It is best to contact Harvey Weidman as he is an expert on evaluation of wheels as such and he may even have a buyer looking for a set. Price check: Minilites
