1982 911SC broken odometer
Hey guys,
i am hunting down this 911SC that has a broken odometer. the guy has no idea of real mileage, the odometer reads, 65,xxx on it. he said he guesses that it has somewhere in the 110,xxx range but truthfully has no idea. car has no rust, was repainted silver, originally white. car runs great, no issues whatsoever, real stand up guy and has been very honest about the car. this is what has been recently to the car. Carrera tensioner update kit Turbo valve covers Fuel pump/fuel filter Fuel accumulator 1 new injector cold start injector new belts sump pump cover Momo Hub Momo prototipo steering wheel what is it worth? he is asking $20k for the car, i kinda feel that is high as i have no idea how many miles are on the car or motor. any help is appreciated. thanks! In the current market he's in the ballpark. If he's working with you, ask him if you can take it to a mechanic and get a PPI. Then you can get compression and leakdown. That will give you some piece of mind. Don't know where in MI you are, but if you are anywhere near Portage, Claudio at Foreign Car Service runs a good shop that can do the PPI.

thanks for the quick reply. i live in portage so I'm very familiar with claudio. the car is in chicago, but the guy has been great to work with so I'm sure i could work a ppi into the deal. i may have to go for this car then. thanks! |
Brian at Midwest Eurosport for the PPI then. Or Al at Chicago Performance Tuning. Though Brian is more air cooled oriented of a shop.
You are welcome. Regards, Matt |
you're awesome, Thanks!

$20K sounds like a great price if the PPI checks out. Good luck!!

I would price it like any othe high "150k" mileage car. 20k is a good price in this market if the car is as described.
