Magnus 77 930 on ebay

Porsche 911 Turbo | eBay

Magnus just listed one of his 77 930's
This will be an interesting auction
Any guess how high it will go?

I am not willing to guess, the sky is the limit but I was sure impressed with the ad.
Magnus is quite the salesman! And I mean that with all due respect!

not sure of the fascination with this guy. he was at cars and coffee two weeks ago w/ a track rat. the car was ok...nothing exceptional like you often see on this web site.

ok so the 930 will not need a drivetrain resto but if the car is a bit rough as the pics suggest.

but that said...it's his car so it will command I premium I suspect.

I have two guesses: My own guess, is $90k. I have a guess from another Porsche guy who is not on PP, and he says $110k.

That track rat is his original 911. It's his favorite and very much broken in like an old pair of Levi's. He drives it most because its one he is genuinely emotionally attached to, not because he's trying to impress anyone with the car.

I don't know that this particular car will carry a premium because it is his. It's stock and pretty original. It's not one of his creations. His creations are the ones that sell with a premium attached.

Maybe the buyers think that there is a stash of prime chronic under the seats!?

All joking aside this could be another sign that the market has topped...hell spring is coming!

Nice looking car though with books!

I do not think the car is over priced....... Magnus does add value.
All turbos seem to be getting full value of the ever inflating market.......

I do not know Magnus so he can be the greatest guy in the world or the worlds biggest scumbag. What I am questioning is why his name would add value to a car? People love salesman and I will call it that he is very good at what he does.

REGULAR CAR
worn ripped interior

MAGNUS CAR

nicely worn like old Levis

REGULAR CAR

paint is fair

MAGNUS CAR

paint shows great patina

REGULAR CAR

Nice car with fresh mechanicals

Magnus Car

A wonderful example with wear in all the right spots to give it the Magnus look.

Sorry but I can go on forever. Again he looks like good guy and is doing no wrong but capitalizing on his brand that he developed on this site. I just don't get someone buying into it.

While the car is already at $115k, I'm still not convinced it is selling based on a Magnus premium. Over in the Notable Recent Sales thread (where most guys think it's a Magnus markup) there's a chart showing driver quality cars at $80 and investment grade at $175K. With roughly $25-30k of mechanical restoration work on the vehicle while he had it, I think Magnus has put this car between a quality driver and investment grade. And I'm guessing that it is going to sell somewhere in between, say around the $140K mark.

I agree with Matt..... This car could sell strongly on its own "regular car" merits.

Personally, I think the current "Magnus" appearance is very cool and I would not change it.

Hot Rods are a hoot. Many build them, few receive the recognition of Magnus..... IMO, He is a very lucky man....

Great Pictures, of the car,
Picture documented rebuild of engine,
ad writing well... with the all important correctly spelled words so the word Nazi's can buy it.
Of one of the most desirable 930 years.
#'s make sense so far, regardless of who is selling.

It's all the Magnus MOJO man. When you are someone like Magnus you can add a magical quality to something, and that's MOJO. You can't put a price on Magnus' Mojo and that's what this car has. That's what branding and rock star guitars are all about.

I think Magnus did a great job with the photos and marketing in his eBay listing.
We should all take note that if you want to get top dollar if you're a seller this is the way to list your car. Great photos and he honestly points out wear some of the visual faults are with the car. I give him a lot of credit for being a great marketer that just so happens to also have a passion for the cars we all like on this forum.
