Possibly selling 911 door
I have a perfect white passenger door from a late 80's 911, its complete ready to bolt in.
Does anyone have a rough value for this door? Its in great shape. I'd actually like to swap some things from it to my car, such as window seals & frame. Would that be a mistake? Would I get alot more for the complete door as opposed to a good door with some trim missing. I thought if someone just needed a clean door they may already have good trim and seals etc. Just curious what your thought are. Thanks! |

It's a long discussion, but first, the passenger door is worth about 1/2 of what a driver's door is, as driver's doors take most of the abuse. If someone has snapped the door stop on the passenger side or had rust appear on the door, swapping might make sense. Here in So Cal where all this stuff is common and rust-free is the norm, that's a $200-250 part. Where you are, probably closer to $400. You'll want a local sale, since that would be a huge pain to ship.
Rule of thumb for maximum $$$ is to break the door down and sell as parts: shell, inner panels, regulator and glass, outer handle, frame, mirror and top trim.
