Anybody know why this "value" 993 hasn't sold?

Hey All - i mean no disrespect to the seller. I hope this is a reasonable place to post these kinds of questions.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/836106-1995-porsche-911-carrera-2-sunroof-coupe-6spd-nice-options-excellent-value.html

Anybody seen this car or had experience with the seller? Im surprised so many 993 coupes north of 40 that this hasn't sold. Thoughts?

Minnesota may be a bit off the beaten track for Porsche selling... but it does seem a deal. Unusual to see the "base" wheels on a 993.

generally 3 months too late. it's a 95 and a c2 to boot. 993 market has softened considerably. even the turbos are slowing down.

specifically, this car has no service history, high mileage, no top end, no clutch replacement. tires/wheels, brakes, and interior color are not extremely desirable. put some turbo twists and a new clutch and this should sell for 32k. owner can also post results of ppi, carfax, dme, and leak down to minimize tire-kickers.

Valid points rayng - i agree with you despite seeing some of all that stuff being ignored on a lot of the sc's/3.2's that are pushing into high 20's/30's- its weird how the market seems to be compressing. 35 grand can get you a sc/3.2/993/997/cayster s

The price seems low at first but 136k with no top end and no upgrades (suspension and wheels to start) isn't very attractive to me although a first time buyer might not see it that way.

perhaps it's a marketing issue. a high mileage low option c2 may sell in the 30s if it were listed at $29.5k on eBay. Then let the masses bid it up. The photos and description could be better.

i can't help but think that more than a few of us are paying our estimated taxes, property taxes, and planning (and paying for) the holidays. there's not a lot of extra cash or time for p-cars right now. just guessing.

wrong part of the country, high miles, wrong color... a dealer documented PPI would help, any buyer would assume that the car is due for a major service because of the miles. if this car was in a different part of the country, california, florida or even texas, I think it would be an easier sell, just because there are more prospective 993 buyers.

Distance hasn't stopped these cars from being shipped across the country or out of the country.

That's not it.

Agreed. It could take more than $10k to put that car right and it would still be a high mileage car. I bought a lower mileage dead stock 993 so I know what it cost Spend $42 and just get a nice lower mileage car with some good upgrades

interior is ugly. If interior was black it would already be gone.
