What do you guys think of this 77 Targa

Casually looking for a car for the Mrs. What's the collective wisdom on this one?

In todays market, that's a fairly decent price...SC'S and carreras are getting out of sight. It only makes sense that the mid years will follow. Outside of the clutch issue, it looks pretty solid. Good luck, Tim

My how times have changed. A few years ago, you couldn't give away a mid-year!

A few years ago a car this clean would have cost maybe $5K less than this $19K asking price. This looks like one clean car. No modded, well kept, and very clean. This one is a deal at this price if it runs as well as it looks.

But, yes you are right - a mid-year needing work was $5-$7K all day long two years ago. This is when I bought mine.

The clutch issue is probably just the release bearing....why should the fork suddenly touch the flywheel?
