Late 80's 930 motor

What is the value of a seized 930 motor find in a junk yard with no history or records?
There are sme photos in the for sale section. Curious to here what people believe it is worth.

Yes I'm curious too. I'm kinda struggling with the idea of selling my 87 3.3 turbo motor to buy a well built NA motor. Although I love my turbo it lacks the low end torque I really enjoy. Since I'll mostly be street driving I think I'd enjoy a NA motor better. I'm wondering if I could sell my 400 hp 3.3 turbo for enough to buy a strong 3.4 or 3.6?

If you meen the one that looks like it sat out in the weather for about ten years? No where near the asking price.

Why would anyone buy or even trade a rarer '77 engine for this thing that looks like it came out of an episode of Sponge Bob Square Pants - that thing has barnacles on it. You've got to be kidding. As a core=$4K at the most.

Gotta be $15k to rebuild that engine in that condition. This guy probably paid 3k at the junk yard. No way the yard new what it was worth having let it sit outside like that.

Wouldn't you be able to get one in running condition for his asking price? It's also listed on ebay for $20k. And the 1989 only "rare" G50/50 transmission that originally came with this engine isn't even included...

a smaller turbo will spool at a lower RPM and give more torque far sooner

I had a volvo 740 with a tiny turbo that spooled up just off idle
and the torque curve was flat and FAT 2000 to 4500 rpm
so very good real world street performance
of course the smaller unit will run out of boost sooner too so hi-rpm is not good [shift]
so there is no free lunch but you can get more power for your street RPM range
with just a turbo swap
keep the stock current turbo for the collectors when you sell the car
