1979 930 Turbo what is my car worth?

I have a 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo I am trying to sell, I have had many Porsche's and been on pelican for while but mostly just spectating. I have had my 930 for a couple years now and it is time to move on however trying to find a price for it has been very difficult with NADA, Hagerty..etc here are some pictures of my car and a quick description, feedback is greatly appreciated.

110k miles maintenance records on hand, very rare Anthracite Grey paint, very clean well and maintained, numbers matching, original Fuchs, an aftermarket stereo and the front seats/package tray and dash have been refurbished but the rest is of the car is stock, has new clutch. Stored indoors heated. Well maintained.

Unfortunately I sold both of my 930s years ago before this market insanity.
You will do very well with that car.

OK, I'm gonna come off as a smartass here so apologies in advance. I've recently been looking at getting rid of my 996 and getting back into an air cooled 911 and it's a painful process to even think about. I've owned 5 Porsches in my life and I can tell you this; I love buying them, but I hate selling them. No, not for the sentimental reason, but because I despise the seeming inconsistency in pricing, the inconsistency in market etc.... A few years back I sold my 83 SC. I'd done a few light mods that easily could have been put back to stock for minimal money. The car had @ 160000 on it and I got the "high mileage" crap from potential buyers, the "it's not stock" etc... it was brutal. On a side note, I'e never understood how some guy can take a 1976 and do the "Almighty RS Tribute" (love that phrase), and ask $75-$90,000 for a "look alike". I mean, hasn't this person taken a stock car and ruined it by making mods? It's moronic in regard to some reasoning. ****Personally I LOVE the "RS Tributes" and if I had the money I'd buy one in a heartbeat, but I was just trying to make a point.
Ya see almost every Porsche owner out there thinks there car is gods gift to Porschedom and any car they're looking to buy isn't worth anywhere near the asking price. I was actually offered as much as $10K below the asking price by one guy. It's a brutal process and I don't envy your future few weeks/months.
You have a nice car. They are going for anywhere between $45,000 to $90,000+. Well, that's the asking prices, whos to say what they're selling for? If you are looking for a certain price and you're patient, you'll probably get it. If you're looking to end the misery quickly take your kicks to the groin and get out with the selling price closest to your goal put on a cup and get in there.
Good luck. As I said, beautiful car. No one will be able to answer your question precisely. Figure out what you want for it and list it. Let the fun begin.

I bet that's the freakin' sweetest 930 in Alaska though. The new owner would do good to drive it to wherever he/she is headed.

The paint is numbers matched Anthracite however it has had blend spray done to it at one point in its life.

So, are you saying it really needs a repaint? Over a 100k on miles. No sport seats, how about limited slip rear end?

It might do $100k in this market, never know unless you try.

No it does not need any paint work as it is very crisp and clean. I don't like letting it out of my site...grocery stores...parking lots I do not know why it did not come with sport seats although the refurbished ones are nice, no limited slip rear end. All feedback is welcome as I am trying to come up with a solid fair price for my car to sell.

Vin and background cars

The VIN is 9309800974, as for the 2 red faces in the back... I also had a 1986 Targa and a 1976 Coupe a couple years back...I have a small Porsche problem...

I too have a 79 930 but a ROW model. I don't think its worth anywhere near what the early cars are. All the big $$ are in the first gen non intercooled cars. I doubt mine is worth $50k. Yours is much nicer but does have high miles for a 930. I'd say around $60k is fair. GLWTS

Ok, I stand corrected. It's one of the sweetest 930s in Alaska - but you own all the freakin' sweetest 930s in Alaska. Nice Z3 M. That's an awesome car too. I put my two cents into one thread on how great Z3 Ms are, and a lot of people chimed in. A lot of Porsche people in SoCal own Z3 Ms. I miss my Z3...

Having sold my 930 two years ago I do have a bit of recent input. As mentioned by other posters, there are certainly difficulties in selling a 930 as they have not appreciated as quickly as the early cars, at least not yet. That's bad when selling, but good if you ever wanted to experience one of the best cars Porsche ever put on the road. Right now it still feels like a buyers market for any 930. I continue to follow the market, mainly to punish myself for selling too low, but also waiting to see when the cars will finally receive their just rewards.
I assume your car still has the original mechanical tensioners and has not been upgraded. That would be a negative to most knowledgeable buyers. Kinda like the IMS issues with the water coolers.
The recovered seats definately aren't a plus, but not much of a negative either. Most folks don't look to buy a 930 based on the interior.
Rare color at this time is more a buyers taste. Everyone that looked at my car loved the looks, but none of them mentioned that they had been searching for a Pacific Blue Metallic 930 forever.
Although 110k miles doesn't seem high for a 35 yr old car, it may seem high for a 930. The little ole lady driving to church on Sunday's was not driving a 930, and most have at one time or another been driven quite hard. Maybe only for 4500 rpm bursts, since that can easily get you to 100 mph quite quickly, but noone usually drives a 930 gingerly all the time. Don't get me wrong. If any engine Porsche ever built can take the punishment, its certainly a 930. But these days a rebuild on that motor can easily exceed half the value of the car. Not a big plus to someone wanting to actually drive the car and keep adding miles.
You have a beautiful car in very nice condition and certainly there are buyers available, but there is also lots of competition out there. Alaska is kinda far to drive to look at the car for most folks. Not sure how the local market will respond to the sale. I'd put the value somewhere in the $55k to $70k range, and you could decide on responses and your need to sell where you want to fall in that range.

Thank you for the input, it does have small upgrades to the car such as hydro chain tensioners and other proper maintenance items. Again all feedback is great! keep it coming as this is helping me come to my magic number.
