Why was the dealer thread closed?
Seemed like a pretty civil discussion outside of a few exchanges earlier. A lot of good info exchanged, particularly by trader giving us a view in how the Porsche dealers operate.
I've seen way worse threads run their course. If things get heated, take out the bad actors, not the thread. David

It wasn't meant as a Porsche Dealer thread... It was meant to discuss and perhaps expose so many non licensed persons hiding behind dealer-like names... This Motors, That Sportscars, XXX Exotic Cars ..... And they all post offers to buy as individuals..... One in particular produces fake DMV paperwork that unsuspecting buyers are given. It was never to be at all about Porsche franchise stores.

Was Trader banned too for giving out too much insider information?
![]() Seemed like a good thread and the name calling was minor compared to others.

The info I gave out is all public info. It wasn't meant to knock Porsche or any other company for that matter. In my opinion Porsche does a better job at protecting its franchisees than most if not all the major manufacturers. Additionally, PCNA does a great job at remaining profitable in changing markets. When you look at it, its really amazing how well they've transformed the company and expanded from niche sports car maker to cars like the Cayenne, Panamera and Macan. People may criticize the Pano but spend some time in it, its a really amazing sedan.

I think everyone that posted on that thread wants nothing but success for PNA, it's dealers and makers of aftermarket parts for our beloved cars. I cannot think of another brand that has the following and dedication of Porsche.
Trader , thanks for sharing your insight- Like you, I certaily want my local dealer to make as much money as they can- I am probably their best parts customer and happy to contribute in keeping the ship afloat. To those flipping cars- just be upfront about it. No one bashing you for making $$, it's the dishonesty. Is that what you are teaching your kids, that it is OK to lie for money? |
