Does this Ebay Car Look Like a 27K Mile Car

This car is currently listed on Ebay, the carpet and the seats look like they have a lot more then 27K miles to me, what do you think?

The seats look more worn than on mine, and I have over 100k.

It looks like all 27000 miles were logged with some behemoth passenger riding along.

Looks like my car with 163k on it.

Maybe had 27k when the odo broke.

"NO OIL LEAKES,"

Ha! now I know it can't be real. Next they'll say it shifts smoothly through the gears.

Honestly, I've seen legitimate low-mileage cars before with wear like that. Low mileage but it mentions the words "barn find," which doesn't usually mean mint condition.

In two years from 130k to 137k, my 3.2 hasn't leaked a drop of oil. This is possible, though I sometimes wonder if my car had a head job or reseal in the past.

That looks about like the way the seats in my '83 looked with 64k miles on it when I bought it 4 years ago. In fact, mine looked worse. No cuts, but they were smushed flat in the seat pan and the black leather was not holding up that well.

Is that a "One-O" and a pack of matches in the console?

I think that type of wear comes from sitting in super dried out seats that haven't been cared for properly in years.

Is it just me or does it look like there is damage to the side sills between the jack point and the rear wheels?

Its clear that it was in storage with no climate control, which is why there is dirt, light corrosion, and brittle rubber, plastic, and leather in every picture. Nothing special here...everyone keep moving, show is over....

IMO That car is positively "Shabby". Not at all attractive. And an ugly aftermarket radio. Run!!! If that was my bid, I'd bail, right now.
Sounds like MM did the PPI.

I'm looking at pics on my phone so take my comments with a grain of salt, but IF the price is right and the engine is really that low mileage then the interior can be fixed.

Now maybe this is the kind of car you don't buy over an Internet auction. Maybe this is the kind of car you're better off buying where you can make the owner an offer that reflects what you think needs to be done to the car.

If there is a bunch of bidding euphoria just because it is low mileage, then yea, maybe this is one you'd want to walk away from.

To the average car buyer low mileage is highly prized. I think many of us would happily take a higher mileage 911 that was properly maintained over a lower mileage car that had some question marks -- all other factors being equal.

Those seats have seen more butt cracks than what they say. It doesn't add up, and the engine looks pretty dirty also. I would ask a lot of questions...

For a guy that lives in Nevada he sure has a poor grasp of the English language. I'd be pretty careful moving forward on this 911.

Leather is missing from shift knob. The underbody, engine and other bits look about the same a my '87 which currently has 83k miles on her.

Cabriolet used as an unloved appliance in the desert. Looks legit to me.
