Go to 2003 on this site "cars for sale"

Times do change
A 71s for 16000
A 69s r gruppe for 9500
And
A 2000 996 for 70000

That's funny, and sad

2002....It's impressive to see the amount of cheap early 911s available back then. Pick your flavor; original and under 100k mi or a hot rod screamer.....under $15k. Early 912s for $5k.

See the links below for the clown who sold a gulf blue, "Maestro" Pellow engine swb 912 for under $7.5k less than 10 yrs ago. Same clown sold a 993 for just over $20k a few years later.

There was a fully restored gulf blue 67 912 that sold for (I think) $70k at auction recently. Can't remember the details that well.

I'd say my old 912, which needed paint and minor bodywork would be a $35k+ car today?

If you really want to see some good buys that we missed just look at some of the bargains in the stock market around March of 2009.

This just makes me wish I wasnt 10 years old at the time, if prices were like this now I would already have 4 of these...Instead Im kicking myself in the head for buying a 68 Camaro at 16 instead of a 68 911s...

I remember around 2005 I started casually browsing '73 S cars but didn't want to drop $30,000 into a car that I worried would cost me a lot to keep running.

Boy, I missed that boat.

Hah, thank you!

When I bought it, I was convinced the market would "deflate" and fully prepared to eventually take a loss on it.

Now I think I would be physically ill if I were to sell it knowing I would never find another one like it.

I bought and sold a few of these cars at those prices back then. Fortunately, I still own my 3 favorites. I can't believe that all three have doubled in value relative to what I paid...

I find it difficult to believe that the market will sustain these prices. My biggest regret is not picking up a 993tt 5 years ago when the good ones could still be found in the 60s and 70s.

Yeah, when I was shopping half-heartedly in 2004, I saw some cars that I thought might be fun, and were well within my budget. My wife nixed the sports car thing because we had a young child and another on the way.

2004, just out of college and couldn't afford a silver 1967 911S which the seller was asking $35k at the time. Sunol, CA. black plate car.

Somewhat recently 2013, didnt pull the trigger on a 1969 911E seller was asking $32k in Ventura, CA.

Both original matching numbers car in driving condition!
