Any Harley pro's out there ?

I'm a Porsche guy only . Buuut... My friend has inherited a property with a barn with 8 old Harley's and an old Indian. All from the 40's.

I know what to do with a barn that has 8 Speedsters and volvo, I don't know what to do with Vintage Harley's.

Who do I call ?

Sounds like a small gold mine. Harleys from the 40' s are rare (if they are not Military Bikes WLA and WLC Designations). Limited number sold to the public due to the concentrated war effort. 43 44 45 are like hens teeth. Not sure what the current market is for these bikes at the moment

Take photos of what you have and post it on this website:

Harley 1936-1964

Very knowledgeable group will tell you what you have and what its worth. If it is a big twin (knucklehead) one unrestored non running bike could be worth 50k. And will sell in minutes. Nothing rivals the desirability of early Harleys. Good luck.

if you are going to call somebody who has a TV show...

"What's in the barn"

Cool museum. He might not be interested in the bikes but a barn full of 40's era harley's should (if the owner wanted it) be able to get onto TV and he would probably help the person identify the motorcycles.

Definitely call wheels through time. (828) 926-6266
Ask for Dale Walksler. He is the owner and an avid very knowledgeable vintage motorcycle historian, restorer and collector.
I met him at the Hartung action in Chicago a couple years ago.
Lee Hartung had about 20 very rare vintage motorcycles that had not been running for years. Dale spent a couple weeks getting them all running and ready for the auction. He really knows vintage bikes.
Keep us updated this sounds really interesting even though it's not Porsche related.
Do you have any photos?
