Very reasonable pricing on what appears to be a nice car......

Interesting pan replacement technique. What can you expect for $65k?

Since it sold in 12 hours (per seller), I guess Macroni's assessment of nice car at reasonable pricing was right on the money...

Yup. Underpriced, I'd guess.

This car is not for a "matching-numbers" type of buyer. Furthermore, it's hardly a 911t anymore. Anyone looking for a "correct" 911t with matching numbers will not be interested in this car, don't you get it?

I get that ......

but at 65k, the car should be rust free.

Yeah, I think way too much importance is placed on "matching-numbers" nowadays. I mean, are people mounting a GoPro cam aimed directly at the engine and tranny numbers and constantly comparing them to a COA mounted on the dashboard while driving?

This evaluation should be specific to the genre of car....
This car , I evaluated as a hotrod not as a factory correct numbers matching T. The market for hotrods has begun to heat up but not to the point of #1 factory correct car.

This car appeared to be a nice hotrod and for $65,000 I felt it was fairly priced.

It was a steal at half the price of the Barbour '67 that made such a row last week.

Well, one can buy this 1973 911T 2.4 MFI coupe and have 13K or more left for hot rodding, not counting value of the original parts.

I miss the days when I could build a hot 3.1l engine for $13k.

No kidding. And then people here talk about these cars as if they were just cookbook recipes. In truth, you often have a few weeks and significant money to spend to get everything 'happy' in the chassis.

To take a stock 2.4 and make a 3.0/3.1/3.2/+ hot rod, I think you'd add struts & brakes ($2K or more), uprated torsion bars ($700+ with installation and realignment), uprated sway bars (sky's the limit, but lets say $1200)... For 3.2 and better, swap the mag 915 for aluminum, then replace the speedo with an electronic one...

It adds up even setting aside the engine cost.

Oh, and if you start with a matching numbers car, you remove and store the original drivetrain and make sure it's all 100% reversible.
