I dont know maybe if it was a nut and bolt perfect low miles 76 with everything just as it was from the factory it might and I say might draw that price.

When you remove California buyers because '76's still require SMOG, you really cut out a large buying group. There are some people who take it on, but considering what a pain it is to get a very old car like that to SMOG, with parts that getting more and more scarce...a '75 is just that more appealing. That's why '76 914's are worth half what their earlier counterparts are around here.
