What a surprise, they are usually so honest.
The only person lying more than a preacher is a car dealer. Period.

For Google search purposes vin 91A0143140 is being sold as lower than actual miles by Abreu Motors in Carmel Indiana.

I suggest everyone reading this thread email the guy and call him out. Don't forget to report him to eBay at the same time.

It's pieces of **** like this that are completely ruining the hobby for us.

I love the whole made up story about the car in the description..... classic. Not checking the previous listings on eBay is just lazy lying. Most dealers do at least some homework before hopping on the bull$hit.

Years ago I worked with a guy that was a preacher on Sunday and sold cars at a local Ford dealer the rest of the week. Never did trust him.

I'm a dealer supporter. But new and used are different. I'm a new dealer . I couldn't afford to be crooked. I can't believe the guy would do that. I tried to call him. I'll call in the morning and rat the guy out . That sucks. He gives dealers a bad name .

I think when folks talk bad about dealers, they are almost always talking about:

1.) Shady used car dealers, or

2.) Craptastic service or repair work at a new car dealer.

New car dealers and some of the stuff they do can raise eyebrows - paint protection, undercoating, the whole financing and trade-in dance can be tiring - in essence, the up-charges can really leave a sour taste. But I think when it comes to outright dishonesty, used car dealers/sales people get the bulk of the ire.

Just as an FYI, ebay doesn't give two rips about odometer fraud.

About 6 months ago I was shopping for an e21 BMW (320i from the 80's if anybody remembers those). I found one on ebay that was just what I was looking for. I put a pretty strong bid in on it. For some reason I decided to do a Carfax and Autocheck on it even though most of the time nothing really shows up on a car that old. Needless to say the ad clearly stated in several places the car had 106,xxx on it including a picture of the odometer showing such, however the Autocheck showed the car had well over 200k on it. I backed that up with CA emissions data from their website. I also contacted the seller and he mostly admitted to it stating:

Dear _______wally509,

Hi well I bought the car with 100k miles showing on the odometer and now it has 106,780 so maybe they changed it somewhere in the years that i wasn't aware of it. But I did the complete engine rebuilt so that's why I didn't care about the millage at that point.

Thanks

- sisebmw

So I contacted ebay about it via live chat. I sent the ebay rep the documentation of the odometer fraud, his response was "oh, I see what you're saying. I will walk you through the bid retraction process". When we got to the reason for the bid retaction I asked what I should check as I don't see "attempted odometer fraud, violation of Federal statue title 49 section 32705a2 as a choice". His response was "just put entered wrong amount".

Then a couple months later the same seller was ebay-ing another 320i and was pulling the same deal. The ad clearly stated (in extra large font I might add) that the car has 135,200 miles on it yet the Autocheck indicates it already had 195,000 back in 2005! I contacted ebay and got no response.

On the other hand, if you are stupid enough to belive that the car has only 27K miles it probably serves you right to be ripped off by that crook.

"...but has flipped"

Even with the correction the dealer has ZERO credibility now.

A Google search will forever state that Abreu Motors are liars and complete snakes. The old, "it must have flipped" trick is pure comedy. They tried to pull a fast one and got caught. Period.

I sent a message through eBay asking how it has 100k miles less than it did a month ago. They responded saying it has 127k and have now changed the mileage in the listing.

I may not be that great at math but if a 6 digit odometer(w/o 10ths) were to actually flip, wouldn't that mean it really has 1,027,150? Lol!..
They even kept the photo up showing it is a 6 digit odometer ..along with the "previous mileage" inflated But It Now price.

Nice car though..

You're right, if it had rolled over that would mean over a million miles.

They probably mean that the initial "1" just flipped back over to "0". Yeah, right...

Looks like a nice car notwithstanding the baggy seatcovers.

Cheers

Alas there's hope in this world !! I just called the place , the dealer immediately corrected the mileage error to me. Without any promoting, he identified the the car like this "oh, you mean the 80 sc? That car has a mileage error. We emailed everybody that asked us about it. It's a nice car, and 127000 miles."
Right off the bat .
Good for him !!!
