1980 SC Coupe, 34k miles, on BaT Auction
![]() 34k-Mile 1980 Porsche 911SC Coupe | Bring a Trailer Somewhat "blah" color scheme, with claimed original paint, and really low miles: 34k. Mostly stock; where modified, they look to be sound choices for a driver. - Sitting on 7s and 8s - Tools and complete records mentioned - Carrera tensioners and newer clutch; no headstud work - looks like H4 headlights - A/C update with Sanden compressor (good thing, IMO -- but not "concours correct") - Chin spoiler with no deck spoiler (de-tailed at some point?) - newer head unit with amp in the frunk, but at least it is not too flashy - Speedo converted at some point (not bad thing -- just want documentation on a 34k claimed mileage car) As one of the early comments says: "This one is going to go to the moon". Any predictions? Will it touch $40k? $45k? Call your shot. I'm going to say $42,650.

Already at $30k, I'll say it breaks $50k, color is very subjective a lot of folks really like white 911's.

I say $46k. Amazing how much folks are valuing low miles.
I was at a Ferrari dealership and they had a final year 993 turbo with 1k miles on it for sale for $290k. Wow! |

The valuation is based more on originality than the miles- the holy grail is low miles, 100 % original, 100 % perfect. Really nice 993 turbo's have been $200k + cars for a while, they seem too new to me to be that valuable but obviously folks with big checkbooks want them.

High mile drivers are 30k.... so I would guess 45k for this one wouldn't seem out of line. Times sure have changed.

I'm going to agree with the 45ish folks.
I didn't care for white for the longest time. Then I got a Cup Car. Now having something like this SC to park next to it seems like a really cool idea. Though a Grand Prix 964 would be even more interesting.

I'm thinking it could go past 50k.

Price is Right rules -- closest to the sale price without going over (excluding the buyer's premium).

Going somewhere...maybe back to Germany, I doubt the moon though. Is is worth your prediction? Absolutely. Will it get there? Maybe. These BaT auctions seem hotter than the cars they are representing. I bet it goes to $43,995.

over $ 50k for sure,
exterior color grand prix white is highly sought after, incl buyers premium, the real cost to the buyer. |

Maybe I should get my car back to 100% stock.

Not a bad idea if you are going to sell it, cause that's where the money is.
But there is a lot on that car that is not 100% stock. It's got most of the common "upgrades" owners do to their cars: - updated head unit + amp in the frunk - bigger wheels (seller "thinks" they might be original?) - Carrera tensioners - Turbo valve covers - Sanden A/C compressor - 150mph speedo swap - H4(?) Headlights None of that is stuff a driver owner would think about removing. Except maybe swapping in an original radio if he is crazy about being "correct". What would a judge call it? A #3 car due to the mods? A low #2? It is not a concours car, but it is still going to pull top dollar. And that is good news for driver/owners.

methinks mad max is talking about the 993 turbo and not the SC but it could be the tequila.

Oh sure, fair point. My Wong chip, M&K exhaust, Momo wheel and modern stereo make my car more fun to drive.
May make sense though to track down any stock parts I don't own now and put them in storage for later.

The exhaust and chip are improvements... anyone not interested in them should just buy another car. I wouldn't worry about that stuff at all.
