That is about the 10th fake 911 ad I've seen on cl in the past year. They never have any contact info and in most cases the description and photos have been lifted from a genuine for sale ad on some legit websites. Often the same ad appears on several different cl sites.
Not sure what they hope to get, other than e-mail addresses from those who inquire - nor why P cars are thought to be such good lures, but it sure is fishy - make that pfishy.

Here's the same car for the same price in New Jersey. Only now instead of supposing to be a Turbo (not!), it's magically become a Cabriolet!! Oh, and it lost 8K miles in the process.
1997 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet 28k Miles

And now in San Francisco - 1997 Porsche 911 for sale
but wait, now it's a 930 conversion, no longer a 993. And ignore the tan seats in the photo - must be black like the text says. Well enough of this - I bet this ad shows up many more places over the next few days. By the way - searching the text string of the SF fake ad got me to the legit ad from which it was lifted: 1984 porsche 911 turbo-look

I just got this lovely and sincere offer for my car from 'Juliet'. She actually texted me asking for photos of the engine and then promptly sent me this.
Do you have the extra keys, Do you have the spare tire, Where did you get your car serviced, Have you ever had any transmission repairs and Is there any rust on the vehicle?. I'm ready to pay your asking price but not cash in person because I'm currently in a conference and calls are restricted at the moment and my only quickest payment option is PayPal, its safe fast and secure and i will be responsible for the PayPal transaction charges so you can get your expected amount. If you don't have an account with PayPal, its pretty easy to open one,Just log onto www.paypal.com and sign up. I hope we can make the purchase as fast as possible? As I am buying it for my dad and I'm pretty very sure he will love it, he's an handy man, so if there is anything that need to be fixed in it just let me know he will handle it. I have a mover that will come for the pick up once payment clears in your account and he will handle the documentations and changing of ownership on my behalf. I'll look forward to hearing from you with the information below so that I can make the payment this morning as soon as possible. Your PayPal e-Mail Address : Full name: Zip code for pickup: Firm Price --------------------------------------------------- I responded with this.... I will give you the car if you help me move a significant quantity of money out of my bank in Nigeria. I am a Prince who has been deposed and I am very much good for it. Please believe in God and send me your bank account number and your dad will have the best car present I am sure of it! And I haven't heard back. Strange?!!? |

I've seen a tonne of fake ads on Kijiji over the last year in Ontario Canada. Same person keeps posting them from time to time. A couple caught my interest but I assume they were too good to be true and as soon as they reply its obvious its a scam. Its such a bummer :/
