Is there really this big a premium for Riviera Blue on a 993?

I've been watching 993 auctions on eBay for several months. This is the only one I recall that beat the reserve price - and there have been many coupes listed with lower miles and lower Buy It Now prices. Is that color that much of a drawing card?

Yep - have to agree with you there.

Interesting to compare it to this Silver one with less miles (and more service history) that can be had for $22K less.

At least two people really like that color.

Looks Maritim Blau to me. And yes that color is min 30% plus compared to "ordinary" colors.

It is nothing short of spectacular!

The silver one is a tip so all in all worth half of the blue condition and docs being the same.

I remember when Black and Silver were the only colors people wanted. Not all the weird and paint to sample colors bring the $

Both my other 911's were pre-tip era. What's the current consensus on 993 w/tip? Is it all down to the stigma of automatic Porsches, or are there ownership/maintenance issues to boot?

Thanks

Auto stigma.

If you like an auto -- you are in luck.

Unloved now, probably plenty of upside given the bargain prices.

Yep. When I bought my Turquoise Blue 993 C4S back in 2003 the seller could hardly give it away. Wish I still had it!
