I bet we see this one more than once
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/867322-1975-porsche-911-carrera.html
Seems low for a Carrera, even with the rust. I suspect this car will be refurbished and flipped a couple times.

Please help me understand, If this car with all the rust sold for anywhere near $39,000 does that mean that my 3.2 in far better shape would sell for a price near that? Is a 75 911 that rare? Is it because a 3.2 is just not that rare?

Never mind. I just looked it up on NADA classic guides. I just do not understand that price with all the rust. And with carbs.

I could buy all the parts that are different from a '74-74 911 to make it look and drive like a US 74-75 Carrera for about 6-10k. No way that warrants twice the price in my book. But to the "collectors" any '74-75 Carrera is now hot, MRI row or us CIS. I see value in the former but the latter? Nope.

my money is on a buyer inundated with interest pulled the car to resurface another day at a much higher price point.
(Much like this car, which was up for sale a month ago for 33k 1995 Porsche 911 (993)) |

What a strange market! I still have Porsche buying guides from years ago that say to stay away from these cars!!! My how times have changed! Even the 912E is worth a lot more now. And many folks said they would never go up! Holy air cooled cow!

I have said it before, I'll say it again. It is all in the vin # and model, sure, you could have ordered a "T" with "S" options, but it would still be a "T" and not command the same money.
You can build a very nice 914-6 clone, nicer and faster than a real one, but again, it won't be worth nearly as much as the factory six, no matter how nice it is. 74-75 Carreras are sought after cars, 74-75 Targas, no so much.

Asking price! Holy Smokes!!! I guess the SC's are next. They were in our local paper classifieds for $16,000 all the time a few years ago.

It was a Carrera, not an S or normal. '74-75 us Carrera good condition or better are selling for anywhere from $60-100k. They are more than twice the price of regular middies. Middies are going to catch up and equal SCs in value. But 2.7 Carreras have already buried them. This car was a bargain.

I love the 912E! What I mean is that for years the 912E was worth very little and now it has really shot up in value . The 912E is the reason I love the 911 body so much. A friend bought a new one in 76 and came over to my house. Guards red! Great car! And the 928 does look like a squished Pacer. But I love it also. Great in dark blue!

I know! My Wife started it years ago. It's a family joke. I would say " Look at that cool 928!" My Wife would say.. " Looks like a squished Pacer!" But really my Wife is a Saint about cars. I had the 356 for 10 years plus a bunch of other sports-cars that oozed liquid in my garage. and now the 911. It's all in fun.

But of all the cool cars I have owned in my life my old 3.2 is by far the most reliable that I can hop in and drive anywhere, anytime.
