Has the 996tt hit bottom?
As strange as is the question, there's a method to my madness. As many know, I have an 81 Targa. SC's are climbing in price it seems almost every day. So it's a tough call for me. If tt's are going to start climbing equally as fast, then it does me no good to hold on for another year trying to get the financial edge on the market. I'm not even sure I want a tt, but that Mezger lingers in the back of my mind regularly. I know folks cant call the market, if we could we'd all be rich, but opinions are solicited here. Cause after all, we ALL have opinions. Right?
PS. On vacation and WiFi sux, so it might be a couple days before I can respond. |
996TT prices have climbed in the last 24 months ...Get the TT now and have both ... can't lose that way

What he said. The 996tt has already turned. The water cooled guys are freaking out about the simultaneous death of the Mezger and the manual gearbox. You should look at gt3 prices. I think it's totally irrational but then markets are based on perception not actual reality.

I'd love to have both. Can't justify (or store) 3 toys. |
The turbo hasn't used a Mezger engine in several years (997.2) and now the 991 GT3 didn't get one. The 2016 Cup is even getting a 9A1 based engine. The Mezger engine is officially discontinued and "purists" are freaking out.

So,,,,,,yet another engine where parts will ultimately be difficult or $$ prohibitive to obtain?
|
Not about parts. About the end of an era and a Motorsports legacy.
