Beverly Hills Car Club.. Any info on these guys?
I am a small boutique dealer in GA, and some of their inventory is right up my alley for some of my customers.. Their prices seem to be quite low on many of their air cools. Unfortunately, they are on the other side of the country.. Any thoughts on their inventory? Thanks

Search here on pelican and elsewhere for alot of unfavorable commentary on this dealer.
There inventory is extremely rough. The descriptions seem fishy and vague. "needs cosmetic restoration" look like needs full restoration. I saw a listing on an older 911 "s" about a year ago that was obviously totaled in a nasty crash. They pieced it back together and totally misrepresented the car. Be careful.......just my opinion. I personally would never buy from them. Last edited by Menmojo; 06-02-2015 at 11:20 AM.. |

I've tried to buy multiple cars at different price points for work. If they still have the car, the person on the phone gets real weird. Felt to me on every occasion that they weren't going to honor their listed price, and they wanted money before I was able to inspect the car. Lots of "let me talk to my manager" and waiting on the line, only to find out the car is "sold" to somebody else at the end of the phone call. I live an hour and a half away.
I've seen them post a car on instagram, called within 2 minutes and the car is sold. I might believe it for a pristine car severely underpriced, but that wasn't this car.. I've also heard the tactics the owner uses to buy cars and I won't support a business run that way. But plenty of people do. |

Both times I was there, they left me alone and allowed me to spend time alone with the cars. The first was a Testarossa for a friend in Canada and the second was an 81 911SC. Both were decent drivers but slightly misrepresented. The grainy photos on their website are stupid, cell phones alone take incredible photos.... so that's just annoying as hell.
They sell #7 level cars at #7 level prices and #7 level honesty. If you want a car to restore, you're probably ok, anything else, pass. |

They are 15-20 mins from my house and I often go there on Saturday afternoons when I'm bored just to walk around a look at their inventory. They are very nice and I found them to be fair and honest when I almost bought an 82 911SC from them when I was looking for an SC earlier this year.
If you can't visit in person then a PPI would be mandatory. Many of the cars are rough and may need more work than often comes though in photographs. Of course, they are used car dealers and well, ...used car dealers tend to act like used car dealers. If you're expecting to find the Pope, then you should have visited the Vatican. They are there to buy low and sell high and they do this for a living so they are pretty good at it. Every person that I have met that didn't like BHCC is because they felt that they were more "expert" and knew the "true" value better than BHCC. Walk into any car dealer with that attitude and guess how its going to go? Check your ego at the door, be honest and fair, and you won't be disappointed. ![]()

I have always wondered how they are sble to scoop up all these cars below the radar of most other buyers.
The coolest car they had was the longhood that was actually 10 different cars. That car is Mingus Walkers wet dream! Damn...could not find pictures of the Frankenstein car in the old threads. Last edited by christiandk; 06-02-2015 at 09:38 PM.. |

The BS I saw them pull with that 67s is more then enough to call them criminals.
Those people should be beaten to death for trying to pass off that car. I would never deal with them. ever.

One of their minions knocked on my door and started asking my Wife about the 76S in the driveway. My Wife of course wants to sell it so she talked to him for a bit but wanted him to call me about price. I didn't want to sell the car so he kept coming by weekends and even had the balls to go into my garage to peak at the 73.5. Now kinda po'd , well very po'd , I called him to tell him that I wasn't interested in selling the cars and please acknowledge my fourth Amendment rights or I would resort to my second amendment ones. The showing up at my home unannounced was getting old and please leave my Wife alone.
All the while I had to listen to his song and dance how he owned Beverly Hills car club and bought these cars all the time and knew exactly what my cars were worth. So I called his bluff and said " so you are Alex" .. response ... uh long pause..no I am a buyer for him. Enough for me I laughed and told him they would never buy a car from me. The best part is that they are nowhere near Beverly Hills!

Woah a gun owner in CA. I think they will most likely take you to jail just for even thinking about it. Never mind protecting your property or your family

Yeah pretty funny . Guy threw me a low ball on the phone saying something along the lines of "I bet if I offered you 30 k for both cars you would sell them" . Idiot didn't know the difference between a 73 and a 73.5 T either. I have a very long driveway you come down it and start poking around my garage when I am home and it won't be pretty .. just wish I lived in Texas where it would be legal...;-). If I want to sell my cars I will advertise them properly no need for some cocky ass clown to come marching down my driveway.

Butt Matt, it wouldn't have mattered what kind of Engrish Christian was being taught over thar, considering he was focused on his wankology studies at the time (and still is, by the way)!!!
