914's
I have a 1974 914 I bought a few years ago. My idea was to do some upgrades and keep it as a fun sunny day car. To that end I started by converteing it to 5 stud so I could put a set of Fuchs on it. It runs good after going thru the engine and replacing hoses etc, still has the stock FI and engine, needs a transmission rebuild and reseal. However due to the usual issues of time it hasn't gotten much past that. But now it appears that 914 prices are starting to climb. I don't expect that they will ever hit the levels that early 911's are obtaining, but I am thinking that perhaps I should reverse the changes I have done, and put it back to stock. I still have the original unmodified parts which I would have been to refurbish. Or I suppose I could just hang onto them, and reinstall if I ever do decide to sell.
Any thoughts on whether 914s other than the 6s are going to start obtaining collector status on the future?

Hi Robert. In my opinion there's no need to put the car back to stock unless and until you want to sell. If you like the look of the Fuchs, just go with it. as long as you keep the original parts for future sale it's all good.
Just my $0.02 CDN ;-) Cheers d.

Agreed. Unless the car is for sale don't change it. And even then, if it were mine, I would advertise it first with the 5 bolt conversion AND the stock parts included and see if it sells. A lot of 914 guys are not purists.
Is the car a 2.0 with 4 bolt Fuchs? If so, do NOT sell those wheels until you sell the car.

2,0, but not Fuchs. It came with stock steel wheels and black bumpers. I have installed nice chrome bumpers and have a good uncracked dash to put in. Still need to replace a lot of the seals and find a few bits and pieces to replace broken plastics.

I think 5-stud conversion is a nice mod on a 914 (Didn't Porsche do it themselves for the 914-6?). Unless you have a very significant car or are a "purist", I would keep the mod. Think about this: years from now when you can no longer drive, do you want to remember your 914 fondly with all the things that you WANTED and DID to it, or do you want to regret that you shoulda this shoulda that? The difference? A little more money in your estate that your grandkids will blow on iPhone apps...

There will be no money in our estate unless our timing is off
