1987 slant conversion & other sins...
I'm going to look at a 1987 cab that has had a slant nose conversion and some hideous rear fender & bumper work, that looks like it was probably sculpted in bondo, hard to tell with just pics but the rear bumper has been integrated into the rear fenders so there has to be some bondo in there. I don't have pics and the online ad has expired I guess. The car it still available and has been for a while.
It has 82k miles. Super deep custom Fuchs. Stock motor and trans. I was thinking if I got if for a the right price I could sell the rolling chassis, motor & wheels and keep the G50 trans for my car. So my main question is what would a 1987 cab roller be worth with slant nose and other bodywork atrocities? I thought if I got it for around $15k or under it might be worth it? Unfortunately I'd want all the G50 pedals & bits to make the conversion so since that would make the roller much less desirable I'd probably look elsewhere for those remaining parts. |
OK, so I guess no one else likes slant nose conversions either, maybe I should stay away....

Seems like a complicated way to get a G50 transmission.
Engine is probably worth $9k or so. Custom Fuchs? hard to know -- say $1500-2000. Or try to sell it as a roller for $5-6k Selling the rolling chassis will likely be a bit of a chore -- especially without wheels. I would think you would be fine financially if you can get it at $15k, but there is a lot of time and effort there. |

I have been casually looking for a beater 911 coupe preferable a 2.7 with body mods and a slant nose is definitely on the list. They are hard to find in the teens, just missed one this weekend by a couple of hours, still out there.
