Was hoping i got lucky....
1969 Porsche 911 T Coupe
I found this car last week and have been in touch with the seller. He/she responds pretty quickly, and even says sure, come on out and check out the car. So, i was thinking well if he's inviting me out there, he's either gonna rob me or he actually has the car! ill go with the assumption he will give me the car for the money rather then just flat out steal my money. But I've given him my number twice and he says he will call me. i have told him my name several times, and he doesn't feel the need to give me his name or number. So, I'm no idiot, its gotta be a scam based on some simple spelling mistakes and the fact he will not talk over the phone or give me an address the car is at. Oh well, would have been a smoking deal. ill keep dreaming. Anyone else see this car floating around? Cheers, Farrell heres our emails Me: Ok great, give me a call when your ready so I know where to go. Tom 269- Thanks, Tom Seller: Anytime today or this weekend Me: Ok great, what time are you available for me to come look at the car? Thanks, Tom Seller: There's tones of them. A Porsche certified shop here has taken care of it for years now Me: Great, could you send them over? Id like to take a look at them. is there a shop near you that has taken care of it under your ownership? Your located in Oklahoma City? Seller: Ok. I have papers up to date, they cover every Maintenance and service done on the car Me: Great, do you have any paperwork I could see from the car? Id like to schedule a time to come see the car also. Best, Tom 269. Seller: Still for sale Me: still have the car? |

Easily a scam, but most certainly not because of spelling mistakes.
Aside from the fact that he might have been typing in a hurry on a crappy phone screen keyboard, a vast majority of people make such mistakes. I wish I had a penny for every misspelled word I read on the internet forums.

calmer than you are

Write him back and ask for an appointment to see the car. Ask him to specify a time and place.
Maybe he has telephonephobia. I would keep pushing until I was certain it was a scam. EDIT: Quote:

Those aren't speeling mistakes. That isn't quite pidgen, but English is not his first language. Not a sure sign of a scam, but a good indicator.

No i agree, its not the worst, the biggest thing is that he clearly doesn't want me to come see the car.
I generally scan through CL because I'm a sales rep and travel to 14 different states throughout the midwest and i usually have a cargo van with me, so i always keep my eyes peeled, but this car was definitely high hopes. I want a newer car anyway, 993 or 964... |

I'm sure it's not the first time I've seen this car for sale.
Not surprising he's not responding.
