Yet another "what's this worth" question (993)

I think I know this car pretty well but I'm new to 993's and some independent input would really be appreciated - even a few data points & opinions.
  • '95C2, 6 spd, 74Kmi, Silver over Blue, LSD, Turbo wheels, coilovers (4) + front sway bar and tower brace.
  • Solid daily driver - paint looks very good from 10 ft but a front fender and front bumper were re-sprayed. Color match is good but fender masking was sloppy & I would want to have it re-done at some point. Leather is nice but carpets are faded. Tires are at half-life or below.
  • FS by a dealer so records are sparse, but I found the PO and learned it had new clutch and trans refresh (synchros, bearings,) about 20K miles ago. Everything on the car seems to work. PPI will tell more, of course, assuming we strike a deal.
  • They are saying it's a bargain at $65K
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

That does not strike me as a bargain. This is a bargain (no affiliation): Cars for Sale: 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera in Happy Valley, OR 97086: Coupe Details - 402043721 - Autotrader

I wouldn't pay more than $45k for the car you described, and I have a hard time paying anything for it when cars like the one I linked are available. Your car has low miles for a 20 year car, but they sound like hard miles.

rgofast 06-25-2015 06:18 AM

Don't even consider it at that price.

2ndTARGA 06-25-2015 06:45 AM

Thanks for the input - I was thinking maybe $55K max - it's been sitting there for about 5 months. I like the color combo and it drives really well - but I should keep looking. Of course their story is it will be worth tons more next year so it's impossible to overpay.

I have a '95 C2 and I agree with Reddy K, overpriced and probably better in the mid $40s.

RacerX1166 06-26-2015 06:54 AM

$65k??? That's probably one of the best I've heard in terms of delusional pricing.

In minty condition, the car would be in the $50k range plus or minus. But, as others have mentioned, it sounds like it's not been treated all that well.

Considering work that the car would require, I wouldn't touch it for much more than $40k.

Six Gun 06-26-2015 09:35 AM

It's a bargain (for them ) at $65K, It's a bargain for you at $40K. I have a blk 1995 993 and have bought and sold a few. I would walk, these cars have caught fire (price) deals can still be had. Go over to Rennlist and do some reasearch, and be patient.

Good luck and remember the search is half the fun.

Thanks again to everyone. I've moved on and am still (happily) looking.

Thanks - I see it on eBay. Blue is just not for me but it looks like a great car. Good luck with the bidding tomorrow.

Looks like a nice car and the most realistically priced in this thread, I would say should sell for around $45-47k

Way overpriced, should be in the $42-45k range. At least buy some used center caps for it.

Rick Lee 06-28-2015 07:37 AM

I have the center caps, but think it looks better without them. I'll take offers.
