BAD Seller, complete lying A-Hole

Well, I have heard of bad sellers, then there is this guy.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/916052-pristine-1988-porsche-911-carrera-coupe-diamond-blue-metallic-burgundy-interior.html

Complete lying POS who deserves an ass beating, clearly a con man.
A buddy paid $48,500 and the seller was a complete dishonest A-hole, perfect int, not cracks in the dash, other the the 3 in the middle, incorrect color, everything works, but the AC, defrost blower, won't start, advertised with factory 9X16 Fuchs, but are facts
Even if the car was as advertised, he is the worst seller to ever deal with. Karmas a ***** *******,

And yes, it is my buddy's problem that he didn't walk away when the lying POS refused to adjust the price for the issues the PPI found and again, when he say that it was the WRONG color. There is a lot more to the story about how this seller acted with a good faith buyer.

Why did he go through with the sale? So many leeches out there trying to take advantage of the Air-cooled hype.

So from what you posted, your buddy had a ppi done, issues came about from the ppi, owner refused to adjust price but your buddy still bought it at the sellers price...caveat emptor

I am confused too. But OP says there is more to the story. Maybe they had a gentlemen's agreement and seller shafted the buyer. Despite a bad ppi and wrong color, idk why someone would buy this.

Well, so what's the rest of the story? Buying a car site unseen is a risk to begin with, especially with all of the decent "investment" cars out there and the things some nice pictures can do to make a decent car look like something far better. Sorry to hear someone got burned, but the seller didn't look like a dealer or flipper based on their profile.

Is this for real?? Well, there you go. He says right up front, he is NOT responsible for giving an accurate description etc etc... He seems to literally saying, buyer beware, I take no responsibility right from his first post.

Wow. That is a beautiful Carrera. Sucks it wasn't as advertised but if I was going to overpay for a car that needs a little TLC, that would be it. I'm sure it's a car he'll be proud of once its sorted.

If I let my 'buddy' do that without physically restraining him, I'd feel pretty guilty.

When I first came across the post in the Sale Forum, I tought this was a red herring...

What he said. Shuffle up and deal. He bought it, sucks that it's gonna be a few thousand bucks from where he thought it was, but looks like has great potential. Fix and sort out what's needed and enjoy it. Lesson learnt for next time.

Wow, if a seller printed that up front it would be a HUGE red flag. Who does he think should be responsible for what they type or say?

BTW, overpaid no matter how nice it looks.

It does initially sound a little odd on a private-sale ad, but this is boilerplate legal language that you see all over the place when you are buying a car from a dealer. It means, more or less, that you are responsible for making sure the car is one that you want to buy. My impression is that the seller was being thorough in doing due diligence to avoid things like people saying, "hey, you said something was X and I think it's Y, so I'd like some money back."

The buyer, who is a member here.

And I do, but because my Mother had an accident last week, I couldn't take off and head to GA. You can lead a horse to water, but can't make him drink. I told him how I would have handled it (walked away after he refused to make adjustments based on the PPI) or the fact that I wouldn't have dealt with such a lying A-hole (the car tells the story)
I told him to walk, when the guy was being such a did at the beginning, but he REALLY, REALLY wanted a Diamond Blue 911, when they agreed on a price, the seller said he had to leave town so we couldn't come make the deal a few weeks ago, and then he relisted the 911 on eBay.
Even when the deal was going down, I told him, offer $5K less because of the paint & flaws, or make the car match what he advertised it as, plus, he made him sign some BS agreement before he would sign the car over, but my buddy was worried the guy wouldn't sell him the car and he would never find the 911 he wanted
Hopefuly, Tom will chime in with the goofy details.

Good, I will remember that, as I have helped lots of people on this board and at the track.

He was willing to pay more to get exactly what he wanted, but then paid more and not what he wanted, course the fact that now it won't even start doesn't make him feel any better...
