I Ask the Round Table - 1989 3.2 Cabriolet
Group,
I am facing the decision of selling and wanted the Group's opinion on value and if anything should be done before listing. Slate Grey. 75K miles. I attempted to attach some photos. Thank you http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1437486782.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1437486812.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1437486865.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1437486916.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1437486930.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1437486945.jpg |
What is the condition of the rear window? That would be the only thing not shown that might need refreshing. Car looks great otherwise.

TechW,
Thank you. Back window is in good shape. I've been fairly anal about using a towel each time the top is lowered. Does anyone know when production of the 3.2 ended? I assume that there is a date when the lines were officially changed for production of the 964. |
It looks like yours is #149 of 1361 '89 cabs built in '88 & '89. My '89 Targa was built in Dec. of '88, and it is a couple of hundred before the end of the production run. According to the "Red Book", the 964 started production in Jan. '89, but I really doubt there was a full switch over in Jan.
Value? Excellence, Sports Car Market, & Hagerty all have published data you can use. IMHO, everyone here has a horse in the race, while some want to see prices going up, some want to see them staying "low". While the general level of honesty seems pretty high, we're all looking through somewhat tinted lenses. |
If everything works on it -- A/C, gauges, Reno radio, etc -- and the engine is in good health (no immediate need for valve guides) I think your car is $40-45k.
And that is probably conservative. Slate gray is a great color. |
Great color, low miles...should fetch a nice sum.

Thank you to those that responded. Over the last few years, this Board has provided both entertainment and education.
I'll work up an add over the weekend. Thanks, Tim |
