The $20K SC
Found this in the classifieds:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/876620-1983-porsche-911-sc.html Engine swap from dismantler with 50K miles/unknown mileage on chassis, nice color combo, exterior maybe a little rough around the fender openings but nowadays it might be a bargain at $20K if a PPI checks out. Having said that, the price drops after two days on the market don't reflect a seller confident of his product. And the car needs Fuchs, stat! Cheers d.

Its a beater. Good candidate for flares etc. Probably worth 17k tops.

I keep getting reminded how happy I am with the SC Targa that I bought for ~$17k that is wonderful to drive and needs nothing mechanically.
For $20k, I'd go with that black '79 Targa that is for sale from Canada instead. |

Plus those wheels are a pain to look at.

LA doesn't define the whole market. I'm sure you can find a similar car there for $15k. But in Chicago or Louisville not so much.

You guys crack me up! Many times you say here that any 911 that drives and stops an shifts is worth $25,000. Then this comes up and it's worth maybe around $17,000.

I respect that, but this one probably has the same ghetto decision making on the mechanicals as it did on the wheels.... I'm standing by my 17k tops.

With Fuchs and spoilers that car would be $25,000 easy if it all checks out.

Here is another that with the correct wheels might be long gone.

I like the bungee cord holding the passenger door shut. Between that and the modern cell phone on the console, I'm sold.
This car has been peppered all over craigslist for the past month or two. 1983 Porsche 911 SC

The only hangup was my location, but shipping from Canada is no problems. As someone pointed out via PM (thank you!), it has very nice Factory Sport Seats and the new buyer got a bargain I'm sure. The pcar RIPS! |

Looks very neglected to me. I would not trust that car to drive to or from anywhere!

I was told that all 911 aircooled cars are now $40,000 cars. I saw it on the internet so it must be true.
