Grady Clay's car F/S on the Samba

I very much hope an enthusiast buys this car, and drives it to honor the former owner. A great member of this community who contributed so much.

Looks super rough. The question I guess I have is why is a dealer in NC selling a car located in Estes Park. And why didn't Roger sell this when he helped Grady's widow liquidate the other things?

I wondered that too, Matt, then thought maybe it was probably a keystroke error.

Was the car rolled or did a tree land on it?

I suspect if he's making the claim he's got to have it titled in Grady's name. It's still weird. I don't know why Grady would have a storage space in Estes when he lived in Denver, CO (not NC).

Or maybe these pictures were when it left Denver and it is now in Estes. I'm 20 miles away. If someone was a serious buyer and got more details from the seller I would be happy to go inspect it.

Yes. And those wheels are very much his style. I guarantee they are real R wheels with 67 pro dates on them if it is Grady's

Those aren't 7r's. Later 15 x 7's.
If Grady always ran 7 R wheels, I wonder where his wheels went to?

Sorry, I'm not enough of an expert to know the difference visually. My comment was mostly to the point that if it is really Grady's car those will not be the replica wheels that are found on so many of these older cars, including one of two that I have purchased. They will be Fuchs, though if they are later I'm guessing not as valuable.

If anybody get this car and "restores" it they should be strung up. Assuming the description is correct..

Not quite as valuable, however if they're the 15 X 7's that take the 3 pronged cap, they're considered RS wheels and still quite valuable. Since this is Grady's car, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they are RS wheels. For reference, the 7R wheel looks identical to the deep six from the front.

I did not know this. Thanks.
