Looks like somebody got a car which needed work, did the work (hopefully), and now they're reselling.
Did I miss something?

Just that one of the values of this community, IMO, is to help inform on car history that potential buyers might find helpful. Especially when there is evidence of a flood history. (I'm not too sure about the part where rain through an open window takes out ECU and Immobilizer.)

It really does sound a lot like a flood car, and not an open window car. Open windows can let a lot of water in, but it takes time for that to happen. Even a very serious thundershower won't get inches of water into a car.

I was also going to mention the Connecticut/Hurricane Sandy connection - but didn't want to sound too paranoid......... pure speculation of course.
