964 pros/cons.. Plus 964 vs 993

Is there a good thread about 964s? I heard that the earlier models had some issues. I am getting in a 1993 964 Coupe and I am not that familiar with these models. Plus how do they compare to the 993's? I have a customer lined up for the 964 but he is also contemplating my 993. So want to give him a good load down on the differences; plus learn more about 964 models. That's all. Any advise is appreciated. Thanks

Bill verburg has you covered.

Personally, the 964 hit the sweet spot between classic and modern. I passed on a 993 after driving them back to back and focused my search on a 964 c2 manual coupe.

993 is as modern you will get without crossing into the watercooled world. 964 still has the feel of the SC and 3.2 but gives a little more modern feel. As noted above Bill gives a great comparison between the two.

Bill spells it all out. I noticed the biggest difference in the 993 (other than the shape and more HP) is the rear suspension. I'm amazed how the car can handle and corner so well yet ride so comfortably.
