Love the color, and the price seems fair

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/887623-1979-911-sc.html

Interior looks good, and the car presents well. I think the color is really striking. I'm not sure I've seen one in that color before.

'78-'79 SC's

That looks like a well cared for SC, it should move quickly.

I really like the early SC's - the road tests at the time proved they were very quick. Many also were ordered with minimal options (sunroof and power windows) which saved a bit of weight. Car and Driver knocked out 0-60 mph in 5.5 sec., and 14.8 in the QM (and it was a slightly heavier Targa). Throw a set of SSI's and a better exhaust on it for even more fun.

I kinda wish I had held out for one instead of my '82, but at least I bought mine before the "run up" of the last few years...

Price is pretty good. You often see mediocre targas offered at that level. If it were local I'd be all over it.

Nice condition - but repaint reason (original clear coat faded?) doesn't make any sense.

Failing clearcoat can make the car look terrible. And failing clearcoat can make the paint look faded. It makes sense if you've seen clearcoat going sort of milky-looking. And usually the only solution is to take it off, and put new paint down.

Why would a repaint not make any sense? Remember, the repaint was done decades ago (per seller); back then, these cars were used cars not worth very much. Owners were just not concerned about original paint and all that matching #s stuff like some obsess over today. These were just drivers...

These are so pretty cars, especially with fuchs wheels and without rear wing. I would take any color.

So both Matts, and Eric, have a thing for baby blue - interesting! Do cars painted that color come with a crib mobile hanging from the headliner?!?!?!

That's not baby blue. My car that is currently being painted is more of a baby blue, though most call it Gulf.

I have two other blue cars. A World Rally Blue Subaru and a Blue Metallic 67.

That was the color of our '82 SC (ours had dark blue upholstery), but I didn't see the asking price. My wife liked it as it wasn't red.
Now driving red '89 3.2.
