Does this sound like a reasonable price for a clean 86 Carrera??

Seem like a fair price if the car is as stated??

Sounds fair to me. Very low miles.
If the service is up to date sound like a deal.

By the look of the oil filter the service is not up to date

I don't know if it is the crappy pics, bad camera or whatever, but the paint looks really beat.

Price is ok. Due diligence required.

If the guy expects a high price then I expect him to vacuum the carpet. Sheesh.

The engine bay pic gives an idea of how much the paint has faded. Definitely not exceptional condition.

Looks like he did a restoration in a can...Can of engine de-greaser, can of Armorall, can of WD-40, and a can of wax. The reason he didn't vacuum it is because there was no vacuum in a can.

Lots of shiny places in dirty, grimy corners. Would need to seriously look at the paint.

The FIAT next to it is probably next to receive his version of Ziebart. The 911 probably didn't look much better than the FIAT.

The guy is selling it for his great uncle in Atlanta. He and the aunt have failing health. Both with onsetting dementia. He is a friend of Simon Gregg (yes, that Gregg) so I know the car is real. He is working on getting all the maintenance records & stuff.

Dealers get a lot of hate around here but this is a perfect car for a dealer. Let someone else prep it for sale, market it and take a cut. Top dollar and someone who can't really emotionally afford to do it right can let someone else take the reigns. I hope he gets what they want out of it.
