Hi to everybody,
I've been offered an engine with these numbers... part number: 901.101.102.7R engine number: *6150217* Am I correct that this is a 1973 RS engine? Any idea of the value (the engine is running)? Any idea of the value of a finished car (only engine original RS)? thnx. |

Not RS. RS engine serial numbers are 663XXXX. The RS was built on a 7R case, but so were other years/engines. I believe the 3rd number, 5, is the year. So you are probably looking at a so-called midyear 2.7.
ETA: found this in another thread: Motors for 75' 615xxxx = normal 150HP 635xxxx = R.O.W. S 175HP 645xxxx = U.S. S/Carrera 165HP 665xxxx = R.O.W. Carrera 210HP

It is probably the lowest of the low for a 2.7 engine. A 150hp normal 2.7 is probably the least desirable 911 engine ever made, in the least desirable year (I know, as I have a '75 but it works for me).
If it's running with no history and no leakdown #s or no known work = $2.5k and that's with the fan, injection, and the rest of the ancillary components. I don't know anyone who would want the CIS 150hp 2.7 motor unless it was rebuilt by someone special and someone really needed it for some numbers matching something or other. If it were a real RS engine now probably north of $100K. A regular euro '74 Carrera with the special motor is now probably $200K, and the RS now at least $850K. A 7R case was used on everything during these years. |
