Pricing opinions please on 944

Bought this and have been working on it lately.
We put in a different Trans as the one in it was doa
Has 117,000 miles
Typical options
Will be doing belts and fixing A cam gasket leak
Power steering seems good and not leaking and the ac appears to work
Put the white stripe on as we had an extra set sitting around
New CD player will go in as well as a new shift boot
New shifter is in as the other was sloppy
Sunroof will get fixed or will convert to a manual roof
0 rust anywhere that I have seen
Koni rear shocks

Dash has cracks covered with overlay and seats are torn and have covers

Just looking for honest numbers. Thanks ply

Those are nice wheels. I think you could maximize profit by swapping on some standard cookie cutters or phoneys (which I'm sure you have plenty of lying about!), and sell the wheels separately.

With fresh FOES and a general going over, with the minor cosmetic issues you mentioned, I'd say it's a solid $4000-$5000 car.

I don't see that you posted a year, but I suspect it's an '83 or '84 because of the dash and interior treatment.

944s are a hard sell in this category. Old-style interior, red, etc.

I'd say $3500. The seat covers are cheesy and look like they are hiding something and so is the dash mat.

However, I do like the rims and I actually like the white stripe which was a good idea.

For someone in this market who knows 944s they tend to look for the later models with the better interior, and one with less stories. I do like the look of the car from the outside. It would definitely turn my head if it was on the road.

My car was found on CL, asking price was $5500. and it had sat on market for months, I was the first to actually see the car after they had received 20+ phone calls on it.

I told her I loved the car but it was a car I did not actually need, she said make me an offer. I told her the car was worth no more than $3500. to me.

She said let's go, it's yours.

I would put a $4750. list price on yours and see if you can get $3700-$4000.

Good advice here.

This is an 84 or 85.1 since it has power steering. No PS in an 83.

Nice paint and working a/c will be good selling points.

As much as the late-model wheels and "Porsche" script are not my taste, they will probably sell this car at a local craigslist level. $3-4k final price.

The air dam caught my eye. That probably came off a euro-spec 944 since there are no side marker nor fog lights. All US 944s came with air dams that included fogs and side markers. These air dam are low and there is likely not a single 944 in existence that doesn't have/never had any damage to these.

I agree with the $3.5K ask. If the dash and seats are OK under those covers, take them off and chuck them in the trash. If you can install a shift boot too that will help.

Cheers

d.

prices on these will be going up as Magnus Walker has put the word out that he's expanding his collection to include 924 944 and 928s.

Dash is fairly cracked up. I haven't even seen the seats yet. New shifter boot was ordered yesterday. Thanks all for the opinions....exactly the feedback I was needing.
