930 market?

I keep hearing there are nice $70k to $85k cars for sale, but cannot find them. I purchased an 88 a couple years ago. Spent some money getting it where I wanted it, but looking for another. Not a dealer or flipper.

Not into the all original or has to be perfect car. Just something to work with. Am I wrong? Looked at a car with a ask of $125K, low miles, front trunk loaded with 90's audio gear, non original carpet, non-stock IC and muffler. Interior was ok, offered 90K, nothing.

Looking to the PP brain trust for thoughts on a nice driver 930 cost to purchase. Is reality 100K plus?

Be Careful

It's been a common story on 930 cars. I think if your take your time one will come along. I owned a few, some I sold too early, still have two 930 and plan to keep them awhile. I think LWB cars are strong and most likely not going down anytime soon, but 930 market is a little different.

If your looking for a 930 with a few mods, you will find them under $80,000. I passed on a few in the 65-80k range because it's a lot to tie up in a car. I keep most of my cars and the low mileage, high dollar, original garage cars are not worth these numbers they want unless you do not care and have loads of dough....like Barrick- Jackson folks.

Finding a good 930 must come form a private owner never a dealer, deals from dealers are not deals, they must pay overhead, nothing wrong with it but look for PCA guys or people who do not care about getting stupid prices because they bought the cars early and are glad to move it on to a fellow Porsche guy to enjoy.

Just my 2 cents

To be fair, plenty of private sellers think their 100k-mile repainted 930 is worth $130k and won't hear any different, too.

May or may not be a story with this one, but perhaps worth checking out?

We're all living in the same market. Sellers were buyers at one point in time or another, and the opposite comes around again and again. I thought that they would come down several times over the last few years, but nothing has really changed/caused them to fall. There will come a seller who needs money, or wants to take on a new project, needs space, or something.. that's who you're looking for. Take your 88 out for a spin, and wait patiently for the right car, she's out there!

No. I've seen 1 in the past 2 years (NJ/NY area). Pretty sad...

As an example, my buddy bought a Venetian blue 930 5 years ago for 25k. Seller thought the motor needed top end work. Car was fine. Car is now hidden away for fear of 'everything.' He's already been offered 100k and turned it down. He claims time is on his side & there is more upside to go... We will see.

Glad I have a imperfect 930 that is a a pure drivers car and I don't have to worry about rock chips and mileage.. Can't wait until spring rolls back around to get it out again

I pretty much only use mine as a highway car, I prefer the SWBS for a around town car.

I have a nice 86 with upgrades that include wheels, tires, wevo shifter, K27, B&B intercooler B&B headers with heat, B&B muffler .09 spring and a few other things I am forgetting best part about it is I have every single original part with the car including the stereo and fuchs. It is white and burgundy full leather limited slip. I was not really looking to sell but someone stopped and offered $75K on the spot I turned him down but I might be in your price range if you are looking shoot me a PM

Yep. The current market state has had no impact on how I drive & mod my car, or on how I view these cars in general. They're fuggen machines, for cryin' out loud, not the cure for cancer or the perfect set of ageless boobs!

Thanks for the replies. And 81Kremer, despite a little cool and overcast here in Tulsa, had one heck of a nice ride today. I installed a RarlyL8 header and outlaw pipe. What a freeking blast to drive.

A few months back. My 17 y/o behind the wheel. He learned to drive a stick in this car, still asks me every day if he can go around the block.
