Stay away from this car!!!

Porsche 911 Carrera RS Tribute | eBay

This car is in a horrid condition. There are some very serious rust issues. The paint is horrific, with bubbles on the hood, no primer ever used on the ducktail, and plenty of cracks all over. The rubber window seals look half way melted. The rear bumper has been actually glued to both rear fenders. The front fender is loose and the rubber seals are missing. The side rockers do not fit at all all. From the outside, you can see a visible line where the fiberglass flares were put on. The engine smokes heavily. The gas tank is under the hood but there is no outside outlet to fill it. The seats have some major flaws and tears. It is simply a wreck and I am not surprised that there are so few photos of this car. The only nice thing about this car is the dashboard and the rear carpeted area. Other than that, it's an absolute junk!!

Yep. I know. I saw the car about month later.. What a junk! And forgot to mention that the front fenders are from a kit. The arches are completely wrong and do not fit well at all.

Funny how BAT blocks any constructive criticism or anything that takes away from the sale of car. If you read through the comments it seems like it was a steal. Sounds like a perfect example of polished turd after your inspection.

The front area under the hood was completely gutted and I had major doubts about the car's safety. Also, there was a pan on the bottom, covering the majority of the chassis.. And when you bang on it, you could just hear the rust moving around. But you did not even have to go that far.. There were numerous visible rust spots, with one completely rusted though.. So again, I hope no one will buy this junk!

That sounds exceedingly inconvenient.

Most likely the seller on Ebay took delivery of the car, was in a state of shock, and decided to unload it himself and try to recoup his money from the mess.
Seeing how negative feedback is not allowed by BAT, and they charge a 5% fee on final sales price, there doesn't really seem to be much difference between them and EBay at this point.
Too bad, because I used to like BAT for their impartiality when they posted other persons' cars for discussion and enjoyment.
BAT used to be a fun site to checking out rare vintage sports cars or cars that seemed to be good deals, and learning about them through the comments threads.
Now it's just a website to flip cars and make money under the pretence that the BAT guys are simply vintage car lovers like everyone else with no skin in the game ...
It's what Goldman Sachs has been doing to its "clients" (I mean muppets) for years. Give a good buy recommendation on a stock that they just happen to own a lot of at a deep discount.

So lets give it a count:

- Sold on BAT in 08/2015
- Month and a half later sold to us from a dealer in Chicago
- We returned the car immediately back to the dealer for a full refund
- 3 weeks later it showed up on ebay. The seller was located in Yemen
- And now it was on ebay again, and the seller was a dealership called Mastadon from Colorado

Something is telling me that we will see this car again very soon.. LOL

What is scary is how the owner selling the car on BAT was coming across in a way that seemed genuine and the way he described the car was very solid with virtually no rust issues.

From the BAT ad:
Quote:
I am confident this car doesn’t need expensive work to be a reliable, fun driver that looks great and runs well. It already is. I am sure it will continue to be just that for years to come with regular maintenance. Like I said before, I have checked the common spots for rust and there isn’t any. The tiny paint blebs I mentioned in the description do not suggest rust; they haven’t changed in size in 2 years and there’s no rust on the under surface of the hood. I have tried to be as complete, reasonable and honest as possible in my description. This Porsche is ready to go and make someone very happy, especially with the reserve as low as it is for a hot-rodded running, driving long nose 911. Thanks!
