Be very very careful with U-Ship. We recently had a C Coupe picked up at our shop, the guys had double booked their trailer, and loaded a couch on top of the car. The guy didn't go with our shipper but used U-Ship.
If you want more horror stories. I have a whole write-up on the blog.

Ouch! I am having several boxes of valuable parts shipped to me from the mid-West. Who would you recommend?

You can email each shipper and ask questions. The last guy I had transport a car was twice as careful as I would have been.
People are people, do your homework.
With uship don't take the cheapest bid. And ask them questions.

UPS and pay the full value on insurance.

The problem you have with U-ship is the one this guy had, a guy with a trailer who will pick up ANYTHING! Cars, bikes, furniture. In this case he picked up someone's furniture but it filled his trailer, so he had already booked the car, so he loaded the furniture on top of the car. If you book an auto transporter, make sure they are an auto transporter, not just a redneck with a trailer.
Another horror story I heard was a guy shipped a scooter via U-Ship from Cali to NC. Somewhere in TX the guy who was hauling it got pulled over, had a warrant, his truck and everything in it was impounded. U-ship didn't check anything when he signed up, just took his money. The other transport places like Central Dispatch check your insurance and your company before you can join.

I would never use U-Ship for anything I cared about. I've used Bill's Transport at this link and he's first class.

Nationwide Single Car Transport/Hauling Open or Enclosed | The H.A.M.B.

He's a one man operationwith great integrity that really bailed me out when I needed a restored Corvette chassis shipped from Nashville to Wisconsin. He also took great care with some larger loose parts that had been show quality chromed. His advice saved me time and money. I tried to tip him $$ when he made the delivery and he wouldn't take it. Check out his feedback online and feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Also, I had never met or spoken to Bill until hiring him. His first piece of advice to me was to never put money down on shipping. Once a shipper has you're money they'll string you along and miss promised deadlines if they're not reputable.
Finally, the nationally known auto transport companies do a great job but you will pay a lot more. To some, the extra cost is worth the peace of mind.

Had great luck with uship. I have a connection there incase anyone needs his number and he's corporate and checks ALL my moves and advises who to or not to use. You have the luxury of checking companies history before u spend a penny. Always check current insurance and get a writer for high dollar cars with their insurance co. Be smart.

I've uship to ship parts before and had excellent results each time- ship via a nationally recognized carrier. Shipping a roller not that different than shipping a running car, I've shipped 2-3 of those w/o issue as well.
