2nd Scam alert
Dear,
Pelican members, please read/beware of the below seller email cosmic4dust@gmail.com. From: cosmic4dust@gmail.com To: a911ebayer930@aol.com Sent: 2/23/2016 11:41:44 P.M. Eastern Standard Time Subj: 1985 Porsche 911 $20,200 Hello, The car is in amazing condition with no scratches or dents. This car runs and drives great. The engine runs perfect with zero issues. No mechanical or electrical issues. Runs perfect. Perfectly smooth engine and transmission. It has all the necessary documents (clean title in hand, original bill of sale, user's manual, insurance etc). Everyone tells you their car is like new, perfect condition, flawless, and then you get a look at it, and wonder what planet they came from. You won't be disappointed with this vehicle. No excuses, no apologies, just a flawless car. You will absolutely adore the way this car looks and you will love the way it enhances your garage ![]() questions and I will happily answer them as soon as possible. Where are you located? Lukas ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() HERE IS THE SECOND EMAIL On Wed, Feb 24, 2016 at 1:52 PM, a911ebayer930@aol.com <a911ebayer930@aol.com> wrote: > What's the vin and location? > > Sent from my Verizon 4G LTE Smartphone From: cosmic4dust@gmail.com To: a911ebayer930@aol.com Sent: 2/25/2016 4:49:04 A.M. Eastern Standard Time Subj: Re: 1985 Porsche 911 $20,200 Hello, Like I have told you , in my previous email, the car it's in perfect condition and in my opinion you won't be able to find a nicer car for this price. It is a 100% great car in EVERY way. I was thinking of a solution, how we can make the deal, given the present situation and the best mode how we can make the deal will be COD. CASH ON DELIVERY will be a convenient and an accessible solution for us. I will send the car to your home address COD ( CASH ON DELIVERY ) with the possibility of inspection. As you probably noticed, the price is rather low, and the reason I'm selling the car at this price is because I have to pay over 15.000 US$ for registration here in Netherlands. The car is here in my garage in Netherlands. At this moment, I can drive the car here because the insurance is still available , but when the insurance will expire, I can't drive it anymore here, and will be necessary to register it here. I can't spend over 15.000 US$ for registration and I think that the best solution is to sell it. The car is still registered in US with a clean title so in this mode , will be very simple to transfer the car to your name , at the local DMV. In this case you will not pay other taxes to import the car. I can send the car to your home address and the transport will take approximately 2 weeks. After you will receive the car, you will have another two days to inspect it. After the inspection period ends, the transport company will ask you if there are any issues with the car. If the car it's different than as I described, or you don't like it, you can refuse the transaction, and the car will be sent back to my address , on my expense. If everything it's ok and I'm sure it will be, you will be able to transfer your name in the title at your local DMV. I think, that this is the best mode, for you and for me , how we can make the deal , because in this mode , you have the opportunity , to see the car and verify the car BEFORE I receive my money for it... So that’s it ! This car needs a new owner. This is an incredibly enjoyable car to drive ... little sad as I write this... knowing it is leaving. I’ve enjoyed the privilege of ownership. PLEASE SEND ME YOUR PHONE NUMBER SO WE CAN TALK ABOUT THE CAR. Thanks and I am waiting for your reply! Lukas |

Apparently between the time he posted the first set of pics and sent you the second set in an email, he decided to change the interior color and swap the 3.3 turbo for a 3.2 na.
Very industrious seller.

And he managed to get it all the way from the Netherlands to California (or is it vice versa?)
Odd that the price is the same in both ads however... https://cars.yakaz.com/porsche-911-m491#lo=4&docid=0009p63bpjlnbm9s

Yup... Scam 101
I was going to buy a similar 930 last year and the same BS story I have to sell it and it'll cost me more to register it blah blah blah. Talked to him in person on the phone even and all seemed legit till he asked for a deposit before shipping before he even sent me pic of title and other stuff. These guys need to be exposed.. |

So he wiil send it from Holland to the US and take it back if the buyer sont aprove of its condition.
Contrary to the tax-situation in Denmark it does not cost much to register a car in Holland. Inspection, plates and EU lights. Thats about it. This is plain stupid and a waste of time. |
