He's late to the party....

I think we'll see several listings at ridiculous prices over the next few weeks as the cooling market settles in. I remember this happening when the bubble burst in the late '80's. Many dealers tried to "prop up" the market by posting high prices hoping to maintain the façade of a strong market. It didn't take long for some dealers to weaken and sell. Just like OPEC, a cartel is only as strong as its weakest link.

Yeah looks a bit dear. It does look like one of the best SCs on the market, maybe with a 6 handle though, not 7. Guards red doesn't help, also.

In other news, two threads closed in one day. Admin has been handing out a lot of detention slips lately.

Come to think of it, maybe that's what happened to MIB. Thank God.

Agreed. There's been bubble people for a couple years now. Most who claim it has popped are doing so in an environment where less than stellar cars are being offered at prices that were previously reserved for nicer examples. You can't really make a direct comparison.

I don't think anyone, dealers or otherwise, are raising their prices to attempt to prop it up and avoid it popping. If someone says things have leveled off, I totally agree. But I really don't think there's much evidence to support the idea that there's a big backslide going on right now. Hell, the snow hasn't even melted yet and every year for the last 20 years people have been talking about how prices go up in the Spring. We aren't even there yet.

I think this article is very on target. The auction market this year has not have the kind of cars it had in the past.

At the end of the day, PP's a business and guests bickering in the aisles can't be good for it.

Just for clarity, my comment wasn't directed at you. It was reference to a lot of general comments I am seeing here and elsewhere. There are many who are saying it has popped.

"Popped" would indicate cars are available for (or less than) before the run-up... This is a leveling....

Popped to trannies930 means something entirely different.
