Seems to be a very good deal?
Wondering if this is a real ad ? Seems like it could be a scam too?

Seems like a scam. You can find the same car here listed as "Sold"!

the mods should do something about this. it's too easy for scammers to post FS ads. At least set a minimum post count before you can post in the Classifieds.

So, how to get LEO's involved if it is a scam, before someone gets burned.

Someone already got burned. There have been a few threads in the technical forum. Some Romanian guy is on the list of the FBI most wanted.

"Shreddy" = "Shady" ? Think that was the give-away?

Almost anytime a very nice car is listed for sale under market by someone with a very low post count, it's scam.

This fine fellow fabricated a fake California title and a fake PPI as I strung him along, I new it was a fake ad as soon as I saw the real car was advertised in Europe.

An obvious fake - they peel an address label off a magazine and make a color copy- call teh California DMV to see if it's legit.

One thing that stands out is the listed lic plate #4EE9478. That would be for a trailer, not found on a passenger car...

Body type CP instead of 2D and Class MA. This car didn't sell for more than $96K. Back then new turbos were mid to high $30s.

Body type CP is correct for Ca. 911s.
All 1980 Turbos were gray market and they were not mid to high $30s in 1980. |

The dollar was very weak against the Deutsche Mark in 1980. Mid 50's is about right.
