1983 SC whats is worth

Hey Pelicans, check out this car, just wondering what your thoughts are on this car. The colour is a little bright but its actually not bad in person. Overall its in great shape, runs great, shifts nice. Mileage is unknown as the speedo stopped working two owners ago and the speedo was fixed or replaced at some point. Its had a complete glass out repaint a 7 or 8 years ago and complete engine rebuild around the same time so its in very good shape, aside from normal road wear. It was a north carolina car its whole life, I believe, until the last 7 years in Canada. I figure its probably a $35k car in Canada making it maybe a $25k US car. Does that seem fair?

Thanks!

That would sell in a few hours for 25K.

Rick Brooklyn 03-29-2016 01:40 PM

Yeah definitely more than $25k. Is that the original color?

puddy 03-29-2016 02:03 PM

Its not the original colour, its apparently a corvette colour.

When the car was repainted none of the paint tags were left so i'm not sure of the original colour but it may have been greeny gray metallic, similar to adventurine green, thats what is showing in the inner fenders of the trunk.

I wasn't crazy about the colour when i first saw it but I actually think the car would look awesome with a ducktail and some Carrera scripts, and change to a sport exhaust.

What's the interior like? #s matching?

COLB 03-29-2016 02:15 PM

I like the color, even if it is not original.

puddy 03-29-2016 02:45 PM

Its supposed to be a numbers matching but have nothing to prove that.

Heres the interior :eek::eek::eek:

take a few K off for the interior.

NYNick 03-29-2016 02:56 PM

AHHHHH!!! MY EYES!!!! MY EYES!!!

I was going to agree at mid $30's, but as soon as I saw that interior....my lord. You have a much smaller market with that Miami Vice look.

I'm at a loss for words, and feeling a little ill. Sorry.

Rick Brooklyn 03-29-2016 03:52 PM

Yeah I might have spoken too soon. That bumblebee theme isn't doing the car any favor. 25k might be just right.

pmax 03-29-2016 05:03 PM

Interior overlays are cheap.

puddy 03-29-2016 05:19 PM

Yes the interior certainly isn't ideal but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Driving it I didn't mind it too much. Door panels are eAsy to change. So are the dash pieces. The seats are the worst to correct, but for me but personally I'd be swapping them out anyways.

Subtract whatever it would cost to get rid of all the yellow. So a $25K car-$10k yellow abatement= fair price.

no yellow.
