Anyone think this car only has 16k on it?

Porsche 911 Carrera | eBay

Sorry I am not believing that one. Maybe 16k since that speedo was put in.

specialtyoneinc 03-31-2016 05:37 PM

Highly doubt it. Hard to track history on the ROW cars.

Arbee 03-31-2016 05:43 PM

Being a ROW car, the original speedo was in kilometers. The drivers seat shown is not from a 16k mile car.

116k.

why would anyone chop and cut a 16k mile sc?

black_falcon 04-01-2016 12:29 AM

My 964 has 116k and looks way better. Unless thoroughly documented highly unlikely 16k.

Curious - on eBay in Michigan, but also still/recently? listed at a dealer in TX:

This page from the dealership site shows it was sold: (their price was $109,500) I think the ebay ad is seriously underselling the car.
1982 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe Southlake, Texas | Southlake Motorcars

Its a modded 82 without history and unknown miles. The eBay listing has not met reserve. I am not sure I would pay the $109 without a major PPI and some history. Its clearly not a 16k mile car.

Is the eBay seller really hoping to flip this thing after buying from a dealer? Or did they decide to move it on to the next person after seeing it in person? In any case they apparently managed to not put even one mile on it since it was at the dealer. (Assuming the odometer is functioning)

The car is so terribly altered I can't see where the mileage really matters. Look at the Turbo script. Why is the paint chipped all around it? This car has plenty of stories to tell regardless of what its real mileage is.

What Matt said!

It's amazing to me how there are no details explaining the mods. For example, I have never seen an intercooler like that and can't ID it, but it is a "longneck" version (eliminates the original, slowish reacting, boost pressure relief system, and the entire secondary intake manifold, and uses a later system like found on 964 turbos = big improvement over stock and likely big $$$), that looks to be far superior to the the stocker in all regards. Most likely it has a much better turbocharger, too (can't really get one that is actually worse than the original one), and nothing mentioned about that. Really weird to me to not talk that stuff up.

Here's 20k mile car. Look at the interior.
