I would get back with your agent! it took me 3 months to get the valuation increased on the 79 and 88 w/ SF and had to jump thru hoops especially on the 79. I have agreed on value and all is now good. I think it was OJT from them to do it...

In Georgia we pay a value tax yearly, though they changed it recently to make you pay 7% on purchase only. My 911 was bought 23 years ago, and I paid yearly and then it dropped to 25 bucks a year based on value which being a 78 is like nothing.

Thanks, all!

Keep in mind too that most of values you get from places like Hagerty's are based on DMV transactions.

To set the record straight, Hagerty's valuations are not based on dmv transactions.

Auctions, dealer sales, asking prices, peer-to-peer sales.

They claim peer-to-peer (what I would call private) sales are over 70% of the market. They say they get access to those numbers by asking their insureds for sale/purchase prices.

They also say "we have access to insured values of hundreds of thousands of vehicles" but don't mention if/how that is included in the valuation process.
