RWB backdate- really cool, or just over the top?

I'm having a hard time looking away from this car, can't figure out if it's because I like it - or it's like an accident.....

Any thoughts?

It's cool looking!

Matt Monson 04-22-2016 06:18 PM

I saw a picture of that on fb the other day. I like it more than some of their others.

Beached whale

shaunmbenson 04-22-2016 07:03 PM

i dig it -- not reaching for pocketbook dig it but dig it

Gaspassin 04-22-2016 07:58 PM

Cool for what it is

gearby 04-22-2016 11:05 PM

Sorry guys. That thing looks like crap. Way over the top. Those flares remind me of 80's gawdy DP motorsports kits. I thought that stuff was cool when I was 20.

johnvan8 04-23-2016 12:55 AM

I dig it. I would pay triple the asking price just for the chance to be 20 again and drool over it...

Very cool looking, A real 'All show and no go' car.
I know many people buy cars primarily because of the 'look' but I personally have trouble understanding why?
I just do not have the poseur mentality at all.
This car should be in the 'Sheeper' thread.

Not a fan and am waiting for this fad to pass again before too many 911s are ruined.

zygomatic 04-23-2016 11:46 AM

Too. Much. Yellow. Plaid.

manbridge 74 04-23-2016 12:07 PM

Subtle it's not. Pegs my meh meter.

Looks like an 80's drug dealer's car that has not quite hit the big score yet!

Macroni 04-23-2016 02:30 PM

Like it.

specialtyoneinc 04-23-2016 08:36 PM

A whopping 217hp folks! Not my cup of tea. Asking stupid money for that thing.

The overall look could be cool. I'd like it better if they could do a better job attaching the flares and a little less plaid on the doors.

These cars will be as hideous to look at as the 959 kits in 10 years. I had a friend in the mid 80's whos older brother got a job at a body shop that specialized in installing 959 kits. I could not count the number of people that paid to have that kit installed. His parents even purchased a car at auction to have a kit put on it to flip because they were selling for so much money at the time. This car will be the same way. Whoever pays $150k will be lucky to get $20k for it in 10 years.

I'm sure wed all pay triple asking just for the chance to be 20 and drool on everything we could.

Interior looks like a 1971 VW Westfalia had sex with a 1970 Sears camping catalog. The wheels are from the wrong era, and the lame fender flares look like Pokémon put them on himself.

It can be fixed for 50K.

i do like quite a few of the Rauh Welt cars....but this one looks a little cartooney to me......i.e. the features are too exaggerated and do not work together as a cohesive design...

That's just me....I could be wrong.

regards,
al
