1968 912 sells for $65,0000
Another big number for a very clean and original 912. It's no longer a fluke / one off in my opinion. It's the market price for a great and original 912.

Amazing, the one that sold appears to have the original smog pump on it! I now recognize some the bits and pieces that are in my pile of unrecognized parts.

Looks like the last $20k of that was really just two guys duking it out.

People are finally starting to recognize how awesome these little cars are.
Don't need big HP to have fun in town or the twisties. In fact some would say more fun.

I was watching that one. Love Irish green and that car was an exceptional example. I bet both buyer and seller are pleased.

I look at this and it makes sense to me -- Weissach in Vancouver has a 69 for $69USD and I'd buy it if I were positioned.
I don't think driver SC's or 3.2s (and I'm a 3.2 owner) make sense where they've gone but these 60s SWB longhood -- I mean, whatever the configuration it's a small needle's eye to make it to 2016 fairly unscathed. |

I started to post earlier and the board ate my post. I'm not surprised by this at all. I'm going to keep the actual number to myself, but what I sold my condition 3-/4 912 for is well in line with what these nicer cars are bringing.
I really wish I had grabbed a SWT 912 before the rest of the world figured out how cool these cars are. That's a car I wouldn't sell if I had it in my garage.

I agree... the 67S Softies followed the RSs as the first long hoods to enter the stratospheric pricing of today's market.....

It was just too hot in the summer. The proceeds bought me a Boxster and left plenty in the bank to finally dive into the metal and paint on one of the 914s. I have long been a proponent of trading up.

Matt I second your trading up -- I think that car is worth it but for $65k there's a lot of 2011 boxster spyder or 2004 GT3 miles I'd like to log.
