A little advice please... Must sell my 1980 911 SC Targa. It is already listed in "cars for sale ". I only listd it last week. Lots of viewers...no interest. My asking price is too high... When I lower the price and "bump" it to the top, later on this week, what do you think a fair price would be ... Please check description and price in "cars for sale ". Page one...probably 15 ads from the top. Any help you could gve me would be greatly appreciated Thanks Joe

Joe,
love your listing. very detailed info on the car. i think realistically with the year, mileage & condition this will be a low 30k car. with that being said, it's only a matter of time how fast you need to sell. i don't see it being an near 40k car in today's market. |

I second florio20
There are some g50 carrera targas that aren't flying off the boards for 40 so an SC with unknowns won't either. And yup -- depends on how fast you need to sell it -- could always BaT it and let the market really decide. Or hold on til things rise again -- there has been a general softening of driver level cars, it seems, and targas always lag behind coupes anyways. And I'm a happy targa owner ![]() good luck! |

First thing I thought when I read that ad was: "Whoa, that's way too much money for that car!"
I'd go so far as to say high $20's. Drivers aren't flying off the shelves these days. List at low $30's, take what you want to move it. And Pelican isn't the only place to sell. I'd try other mediums as well. GLWS

Listing at high 20s will be flipper bait. I say list at $34k, accept no less than $31k

Gentlemen,
Thank you for your assistance. I absolutely knew my pricing was too high. I now have a very good grip on reality. I think I will follow the advice of Rick Brooklyn and lower my price, per his suggestion. Seems realistic to me. Thank you again. When all is done, I will let you know how I came out. Joe
